Editorial Welcome to the first issue of a brand new adventure magazine! Not only is SynTax a new magazine, it's also the first adventure magazine on disk. We hope that you'll like the format. If not, tell us what you'd like because although we are doing this magazine because it's something we wanted to do, you're the one who has to read it! Would you like music while the disk loads? Bear in mind that the disk space used for that would cut down the number of reviews, solutions and other articles that we can include. Any other suggestions will be very welcome and will be acted upon if humanly possible! We would be pleased to get letters from you anyway to hear what you think of SynTax. As this is the first issue, it was quite hard to decide what to put into it so we have aimed to give a general view across the wide range of ST adventures, with some old and some new. From Issue 2 onwards, we will be doing more for the RPGers amongst you and aiming to keep bang up to date with the latest releases. We will also start to cover wargames and include maps as soon as we can work out the easiest way (and most economical in terms of space) to put them onto disk. If you have any contributions to make, we will be very pleased to hear from you. If doesn't matter how large or small they are, whether for old or new adventures. There are more details about making contributions elsewhere in this section. Contributions for RPGs and wargames will be especially welcome. Also, if you are willing to offer help to your fellow adventurers, either by letter or phone, drop us a line and we will set up a Helpline section. Just let us have a list of the games you can help with and, if you're willing to help by phone, the times that you are willing to accept calls. Authors! If you have a game you would like us to review, please send us a copy and tell us how much you're charging for it. If it's PD or Shareware and you'd like us to add it to our list, we'd be glad to do so. Just one final point before we go. We are aiming to provide a quality service so if you have any problems with the disk, please don't suffer in silence - let us know and we'll sort out the problem for you. The next issue of SynTax will be out in September so we hope to "see" you again then! Thanx to everyone who helped and gave encouragement during the production of Issue 1! Sue and John
