Competition The response to last issue's competition, naming the adventure that the screenshot came from, wasn't particularly great - a total of 3 entries was received! Unfortunately, no-one got it right. The screenshot was from Jinxter (the bridge). Am I downhearted? Am I going to drop competitions? No, sorry, you don't get off that easily! In fact this time, there are two competitions. The closing date for both is 15th February 1990. Compo 1: The first one is another graphics competition where I have taken pictures of six characters from Sierra games and want you to tell me who the characters are. Simple, huh? The first correct answer pulled out of my poor old straw hat (which didn't get used last time) will win not one but ..... TWO free issues of SynTax as last issue's prize has been carried over. You'll find the competition picture in the Screenshots section. Compo 2: The prize for the second competition is not one .... not two .... but THREE free issues of Spellbreaker! kindly donated by Mike Brailsford (cheers, Mike!) It's another easy one so I am hoping for loads of correct answers. Each of the following list of questions or phrases will give you the title of an ST adventure. The first letters of each answer, when listed, will give the name of a well-known adventure series. Just send in the list of adventure names and the resulting final title and the first one out of the hat (etc etc) will win the Spellbreaker! issues. All the adventures have been mentioned in the ST Adventure List at some time or other and to make entering the compos easier, there's an entry form on the last page for you to printout and complete. Right, here they come: 1. In which game would you find a glow spell written at the entrance to a mountain? 2. This young lady returned and caused even more havoc! 3. Infocom brought out a game that was really "different" - but no-one could make head or tail of it. 4. Try to make your fortune in this game and learn a bit of history at the same time. 5. If I dropped a clock, what might I end up with? 6. A pair of RPGs was produced for certain computers, but only the second one appeared on the ST. 7. In which game would you find spider cider? 8. A county or a spaceship? 9. The second game to feature Floyd. 10. This game featured a strange land where guitar picks were used as the local currency. Winners who are already subscribers to either magazine will have their free issues added onto their subscription. Entry Form: (Closing date Feb 15th 1990).
