Manhunter: San Francisco - Sierra On-Line RRP œ29.99 (All-graphic adventure with arcade sequences, no text input) I reviewed this game back in Issue 3 and was pretty enthusiastic about it, considering that I admitted I had got stuck in it pretty quickly. Having had a bit of help from a fellow 'Netter, I got going on it again recently and have just completed it so I thought it might be worthwhile to give another short write-up in retrospect. Strangely enough, once I had passed my sticking-point, I had very few other difficulties and completed it relatively quickly - apart from one bit. I mentioned last time that you could select an "easy arcade" option when playing those parts of the game. Well, this certainly helped, until I hit the last arcade sequence. From the way the game was going, I knew I had all but finished it ... all I had to do was negotiate a few screens and that'd be it. Could I finish? Could I heck!! It took two-and-a-half days to get through it, I've never been so frustrated with a game in my life. However, I have been determined not to let this lousy final experience colour my view of the game which I enjoyed a lot. The graphics are certainly on the gory side, I can't say that I was impressed by their style though they fitted in with the story. But the puzzles were good, and there was a definite feeling of satisfaction when I finished it. I would not say it was worth œ30.00 but if you can get it cheaply, as I did, I'd recommend it. It has even tempted me to go back to Manhunter: New York and give it another go though I am afraid the arcade sequences (with no "easy" option) will be my downfall! But at least this time I'll be more at home with the control system which is completely different from any game I have tried before and takes some getting used to. Sue
