From Graham Wheeler, Bath When I decided to make a list of my Top Ten Adventures the main thing I was concerned about was finding 10 adventures to make up the list. The reason for this was that most of my adventuring has been done on the 8-but machines. Taking papyrus and quill in hand I started compiling a provisionary list to see if I could come up with the amount needed. By the time I had reached over 40 titles it became obvious to me that the problem wasn't going to be "Can I Find Enough Adventures For The List", it was more a fact of "Which Adventures Can I Leave out?" Well, after many hours of juggling with the adventures, here is my Top Ten and the reasons why I chose them! (1) Ultima IV - RPGs are my favourite type of adventure and this one is by far the best that I have played. (2) Spellbreaker - Taking everything into account this has to be the best text adventure I have ever played. (3) Dungeon Master - As soon as this was released it was obvious that it was destined to become a CLASSIC! (4) Enchanter - This was the first Infocom adventure that I played and it was an excellent introduction to the world of Infocom. (5) Bard's Tale I - Another top class RPG that gave me many hours of pleasure. My only regret is that Bard's Tale II and III were never released for the ST. (6) Dragonflight - A very recent release that I have just completed and found extremely enjoyable. (7) Wishbringer - This is a lovely adventure and must rate as one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. (8) Guild of Thieves - I must admit that I have never been impressed by the majority of Magnetic Scrolls releases but this one, in my opinion, is excellent. (9) Phantasie III - This was my first RPG on the ST and as such it holds many happy memories. (10) Cortizone - Last but by no means least is this ridiculously-cheap adventure available from Zenobi. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The running total is now: 44 pts Dungeon Master 28 pts Lurking Horror 20 pts Chaos Strikes Back 19 pts Beyond Zork 15 pts Enchanter, Xenomorph 14 pts Stationfall 13 pts Guild of Thieves 12 pts Demon's Winter, Wishbringer 11 pts Spellbreaker, Zork II, Manhunter San Francisco 10 pts Trinity, Ultima IV 9 pts Jinxter 8 pts Leather Goddesses, Zak McKracken, Bard's Tale I 7 pts Ultima V, Sorcerer, Loom, Ingrid's Back, Fish 6 pts Phantasie I, Captive, Corruption 5 pts Manhunter New York, Jacaranda Jim, Dragonflight, Drakkhen, Sleeping Gods Lie 4 pts Time and Magik, Planetfall 3 pts Cortizone, Ballyhoo, Deja Vu, Jade Stone, Witness 2 pts Phantasie III, Infestation, Legend of the Sword 1 pt Plundered Hearts, Future Wars, Wizard's Tower, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 1/2 pt Zork I, Zork III @~Don't forget to send in your list!
