Contributions My thanks to this issue's contributors: John Barnsley, Dave Barker, Colin Campbell, Paul Cardin, Paul Cooper, Joan Dunn, Ron Rainbird, Neil Shipman, Andrew Stenhouse, David Stocks, STormbringer, Marion Taylor, Graham Wheeler and to everyone who has been in touch since the last issue. As an added incentive to contributors, a points system is running from Issue 12 for contributions at a rate of 1 point per published K of information (reviews, solutions, hints, articles etc). At the end of a year (ie Issue 17), prizes will be awarded to the five individuals who have contributed the most information. The winners' points will be zeroed and everyone else's points will be carried forward for the next year. Prizes will be on the lines of SynTax subs, software and PD disks. I've been asked to include a more detailed full points list from now on, so here it is, from 2pts upwards: Colin Campbell 70.5 Neil Shipman 58.0 Graham Wheeler 49.7 Dave Barker 36.2 Henry Rushing 30.2 Marion Taylor 25.2 Ian Taylor 23.7 Tony Woolcock 22.6 Ron Rainbird 19.6 John Carter 14.8 The Grue! 13.3 Paul Cardin 9.0 Matthew Pegg 8.8 STormbringer 6.9 Claire Dyard 6.4 Andrew Stenhouse 6.0 Jack Lockerby 5.9 Tom Green 3.1 The Wayfarer 3.0 Joan Dunn 2.8 Kay Wheeler 2.7 Roy Sims 2.7 Paul Cooper 2.3 Danny Pearman 2.2 George W Smith 2.1 So, if you have any contributions for future issues of SynTax, please send them in. They can be for old or new games and of virtually any length. You can send hints, solutions, reviews, maps, articles - anything! Ideally they should arrive before the 15th of the month before the disk is produced to be sure of being included in the next issue. Screenshots can be in Degas or NEO format. Multiface ST is ideal for doing them; if you haven't got this add-on and do a review for SynTax, if you're willing to loan me the game, I'll TRY to do a screenshot on your behalf - you'll get the points if I succeed! Second opinions of adventures are always welcome - especially if you disagree with the original review. Hints for games are also needed, even after the solution has been published, as some people prefer hints. Ideally, I'd like all ST contributions in flat ASCII form on disk and, if you send on disk, I'll replace it with the PD disk of your choice. If you'd prefer a shareware disk, you'll have to send œ1.00 as well to cover the author's fee. As I haven't got an Amiga, contributions from Amiga owners should be sent as printouts, hand-written or on disk by using ST Writer and the emulator. If you're sending hints, the "3-in-1" format would be preferred, with a maximum of 63 characters/line. Maps can be sent in any form you like so long as they are clear.
