Competitions Congratulations to Ken Morgan who won last issue's crossword. I hope he's enjoying the first two books in Simon Hawke's 'Wizard' series. I read the set of six while I was convalescing and thoroughly enjoyed them. The answers to the crossword were pawn, treasure (or creature), Arthur, salt, lie, Infocom, Zenobi, Ent (from Lord of the Rings), Muna, lantern, zone (from Cortizone), jade (from the Jade Stone), SynTax, Kristal, Ballyhoo, Deadline, pot, Nord, reserve, tales, hero, Elvira, mapping, zero, Trinity, mine (or cave), maze, nine, slay, jar (or jug), Sha. As you can see, a few alternatives were allowed! This issue we have two competitions. The first has been devised by Paul Cardin and is a word puzzle. Full instructions are given on the competition sheet and entries should be returned by 15th February 1992. I'll find a suitable prize for the winner. The prizes for the second competition have been very generously donated by Inter-Mediates Ltd and is being run in association with Red Herring magazine. Again, it's a crossword and full details are on the enclosed leaflet. The closing date is later - March 21st 1992. There will be five first prizes of four Infocom hint books each and two of the books cover two games each. Runners-up will win one twin-pack hint book each and there are 50 books in all to be given away. All normal competition rules apply as usual in both cases I hope you'll have a go at both of them. Good luck!
