AGT on the Amiga - hints for its use Sent in by The Grue! @~The Grue has been kind enough to compile some of the AGT games @~for me on the Amiga and I asked if he'd write a few notes on the @~use of the program. As with the ST and PC versions of the @~program, the original files are provided in ARCed format and @~need to be unpacked, then the datafiles compiled to give a @~runnable adventure. I strongly suggest that anyone interested in AGT Amiga should have two drives. The easiest way to decompress the files on the disk is to copy LZ the unpacking program and the file they wish to unpack onto a blank disk, then open a CLI window and change the directory to DF1 and type, for example, Lz x CRUSADE.LZH or Lz x AGT.DOC.LZH. If they try to unpack more than one file at a time they might find they run out of disk space and I think to unpack all the files on the original disk would amount to five or six disks. At least doing it one file at a time you will then know how much you can fit on a disk. One of the best utilities for doing all this is SID. To run a finished game, for example Crusade, the player will have to boot up with workbench and open a CLI window and put the Crusade disk in DF1, the external drive. Then type CD DF1: press return and then type AGTRun CRUSADE, press return and the game will take about a minute to read the data and will then run. @~If anyone has any queries on AGT Amiga, the Grue has offered to @~help by phone. You can ring him on 0695 573141, 7:30pm - 9:00pm, @~Monday to Friday.
