RPGs and the like - Twilight 2000 is set in an imagined World
-----------------   War III scenario. Controlling 24 characters
and with the ability to speak in over 34 languages (I wonder
why?) you must gain territory with the help of any allies you win
over to your cause. PC œ40, ST and Amiga soon.

Captive will be released on the PC soon, followed by Knightmare
later in the year.

Interstel's Dusk of the Gods has an unusual scenario in that it is
set around the legends of Valhalla. Explore Asgard, Midhelm and
Jotenheim in an effort to gain information that will help Odin at
the battle of Ragnorok. Point and click interface.

Also in the shops: Eye of the Beholder 2 (PC, œ36), Abandoned
Places (Amiga, œ30), Matrix Cubed (PC, œ31).

Strategy - Microprose's Special Forces, a mix of arcade action and
--------   strategy, is programmed by Sleepless Knights (I like
it!) It puts you in control of a commando force who must restore
order through jungles and swamps after a military takeover. It'll
be on Amiga and ST some time soon.

Dune, based on Frank Herbert's books, sounds on the strategy side
too, though as it was programmed by Cryo who also released Captain
Blood and Purple Saturn Day, we'll probably have to wait until
it's actually on the shelves to be sure!

Utopia 2 will feature different graphics from the original game.
More strategy will be involved together with the ability for the
player to view the alien base as well as his own.

Also out: Star Trek 25th Anniversary (Interplay, PC, œ42).

Datadisks - planned (or out) for Mega Lo Mania (Amiga, PC) and
---------   Utopia (another 10 levels, ST and Amiga).


Graphic Adventures - From the people who brought you Drakkhen
------------------   comes an even larger game, Eternam, which
will initially be out on the PC, followed by other 16-bit
versions. Features include high quality cartoon animation and
thousands of sprites.

IF have just released a Cinemaware-type game called Crime City on
the Amiga and ST for œ30. As a modern PI you must solve a murder,
using your skills as a hacker and playing the stock market.

A footnote; the packaging of both Larry V and Willy Beamish on the
Amiga say 1meg dual drive needed, hard drive recommended.

Text Adventures - Mediagenic have re-released a collection of 20
---------------   Infocom games for, initially, PC only but an
Amiga package should follow. Only on import at the moment the
price is $79.95. Called Lost Treasures, the pack includes hint
books and maps.

Educational/Puzzle Games - Much in the style of Fool's Errand, Are
------------------------   We There Yet? is a collection of
puzzles to solve as the Mallard family travel across America.
Expect to pick up some useful knowledge about the different states
as you progress. PC, œ30.

Books: The Ultimate Carmen Sandiego Companion is now available
-----  from Bantam Computer Books. It covers America's Past,
World, USA, Europe and Time and costs œ10.

Hint books have been recently released for Matrix Cubed (œ10) and
Might and Magic III (a massive œ15 but it's the thickness of a
good-sized paperback novel).
