THE PAWN (Magnetic Scrolls) Solution by G L WHEELER At the start of the game go EAST. When you meet Kronos WAIT and he will offer you a note. GET NOTE and then ASK KRONOS ABOUT WRISTBAND, he will tell you that he can remove it if you kill the Adventurer. He will then offer you a chest. GET CHEST. Now keep going EAST to the Palace Gardens. EXAMINE JEANS, EXAMINE POCKET and you will find a metal key, LIFT MAT by the shed and you will find a wooden key, then give the note that Kronos gave you to the Palace Guards. You will be thrown out of the Palace. Return to the shed and UNLOCK DOOR WITH METAL KEY, OPEN DOOR, ENTER DOOR, GET RAKE AND HOE, EXAMINE BENCH, and GET TROWEL. LOOK UNDER BENCH and you will find a plant pot which you should get. If you examine the pot you will find that it contains a plant but the plant has not been potted correctly, so PLANT PLANT IN POT WITH TROWEL. You can now leave the shed as the wheelbarrow is of no use. Your next step is to visit the Guru, but before you enter REMOVE SHIRT, and COVER WRISTBAND WITH SHIRT, if you fail to do this he will just laugh at you and not help. The Guru will give you a bowl and ask you to get him essential nourishment. When you encounter the Adventurer on his White Horse (random) give him the chest. Do this before you move the boulder as you do not want him to be able to pass it. At the Boulder TIE RAKE AND HOE TOGETHER WITH SHIRT and LEVER BOULDER WITH RAKE AND HOE, this will remove it from your path. Don't forget to UNTIE SHIRT and wear it as you will need protection from the cold on the Plateau. Now CLIMB ROCKS and make your way to the Plateau. Once there FILL BOWL WITH SNOW, this will melt leaving pure water. Off you go back to the Guru, not forgetting to cover the wristband before you enter, GET RICE, and GIVE BOWL TO GURU, he will then give you a clue on how to find a light source. Now set off for the clearing. EXAMINE STUMP to find a pouch. OPEN POUCH, LOOK INSIDE POUCH and you will see a Blue, Red and Green, MIX BLUE WITH RED AND GREEN to make a White, this will enable you to see in dark places. The next port of call is the Tree. CLIMB TREE, UNLOCK DOOR WITH WOODEN KEY, open it and go in. Once inside you must CLOSE DOOR to enable you to PUSH PLANKS, you will now be able to go down inside the Tree. Make your way to the Lounge where you will spot a Hard Hat hanging on a hook. GET HAT, WEAR HAT, now turn your attention towards the settee. GET CUSHION, and you will find a Coin that was concealed underneath. Go back to the crossroads and go NORTHWEST, PRESS BUTTON, and wait for the lift to arrive, PULL DOOR, go NORTH and PRESS SECOND BUTTON. The lift will descend. PULL DOOR, go out to the Rockface and GET LEAD WITH TROWEL. Return to the lift and get the Rope that you see inside. A visit to Trader John will allow you to BUY ALE AND WHISKY WITH COIN. After doing this go to the Narrow Track where you can find and enter a cave (you will need the white), make your way EAST to the cavern with stalagmites and go DOWN. From here go NORTH twice and you will meet some hungry Alchemists. GIVE RICE TO ALCHEMISTS, they will offer to turn your lead to gold. GIVE LEAD TO ALCHEMISTS. Unfortunately they were telling fibs and will just run away taking your lead with them. Go NORTHEAST to the Store where you will see an Aerosoul which you can get, there are also some interesting Tomes here. CAST SPELL ON TOMES, READ TOMES and you will learn that Kronos has made a pact with the Devil and that he needs three souls to save his own. Your next stop is the Rem Statement Chamber. Leave all your items except the trowel here. EAST from here will take you to the Lava River, go UP twice to the Riverside Chamber and BREAK WALL with the trowel. You will travel back to the Rem Statement Chamber on a great wave of water. The water will cool down the Lava River and you will now be able to go back and walk NORTH. Once across the river you will see a Pedestal. MOVE PEDESTAL, EXAMINE NICHE and you should find a key (note if you failed to kill the Adventurer this key may be missing as he tends to steal it). GET KEY and return to the Rem Statement Chamber to collect your belongings. From this chamber go WEST, NORTH, NORTH, NORTHWEST, WEST to a Rope Bridge. Make your way across and go NORTHEAST, NORTH to a room with paper walls. Here you should CUT PAPER WALL WITH TROWEL, PULL CUPBOARD and TIE ROPE TO HOOK, CLIMB DOWN ROPE, DROP ROPE, and head South. At the Double Doors KNOCK DOORS four times and when they open GIVE WHISKY TO PORTER and he will allow you to enter. In the Annex you will meet Jerry; he is thirsty and would welcome a nice drink so GIVE ALE TO JERRY. Now put your White in your pocket as the place you must pass through next has too much light to allow you to pass if you are carrying a light source. Go NORTH, EAST, NORTH, and EAST and you will come face to face with the Devil himself! ASK THE DEVIL ABOUT LIFE, he gives you a potion and tells you to kill Kronos. He says that if you bring him his soul he will remove the wristband for you. He then transports you back to the bridge. Make your way back across the Bridge and go NORTHWEST where you will meet a short sighted Dragon. EXAMINE SHADOWS and you will see some Hobbits stealing the Dragon's treasures. POINT AT HOBBITS, the Dragon still can't see them but you have his interest. SHINE WHITE AT HOBBITS IN THE SHADOW. He now spots them and eats them which gives you time to go NORTH to see Kronos. THROW BOTTLE AT KRONOS, he starts to dissolve. POINT AEROSOUL AT KRONOS AND PRESS NOZZLE, you have now collected his soul for the Devil. GET POINTY HAT, WEAR POINTY HAT, GET CLOAK, WEAR CLOAK, GET WAND. You now look like Kronos and can go back past the Dragon. It is also possible to use Kronos's platform to go down, but you must get the weight of yourself plus your items to match Kronos's weight before it will work. Make your way back to the Devil and GIVE AEROSOUL TO DEVIL, he will then remove your wristband. Although your main aim is to get the wristband removed you will not have scored full marks yet, so go back to the Tree, enter and go down, make your way to the Office where you will find a rug. LIFT RUG, to find a safe, UNLOCK SAFE WITH KEY, the key will now vanish. LOOK INSIDE SAFE, it will appear to be empty, SEARCH SAFE and you will find some ballot papers. GET BALLOT PAPERS and go to the Voting Booth. PUT PAPER IN LARGE BALLOT BOX. Now pay another visit to the Plateau as outside the Tower you will meet a Snowman. MELT SNOWMAN WITH WHITE (this scores points) and it will allow you to enter the Tower if you decide you want a look around although no purpose is served by this. You are now ready to complete the game so go to the Cream Doors which are located DOWN and SOUTH twice of the cave with Stalagmites. Once there KNOCK DOOR and you will be asked if you have a wristband. SAY NO, the door will open. ENTER DOOR, you will be given a listing. EXAMINE LISTING, the programmers will go off and leave you and you have completed the game. NOTES:- Do not try to free the Princess from the Tower as you need the Key that unlocks her door to open the safe and it can only be used once. Mean as this may seem, remember she does not SCORE POINTS!.
