Robin Hood (Millenium) - general hints These are a few things I found while playing the game. They seemed to have the right effect though sometimes it's hard to tell! First - visit Helfstan by his hut at the far northwest of the area. Talk to him and he'll give you a magic crystal. Selecting this will give you an overhead view of the whole playing area. You can use this to move around quicker and to home in on particular people as a colour code is given for different characters. Next go to the far southeast where Little John lives. Try to walk across the bridge over the water in front of his home and he'll attack and beat you. However, he'll still join your party and you can rest at his house. After a while, you'll hear trumpets from the castle. All the characters will make their way there to hear about the law being passed against hunting deer. Wait by the gallows until a poacher is about to be hung and, using your sword, attack the soldier who is acting as hangman. It looks like you need help for this so make sure you recruit at least Little John first, otherwise you'll be defeated. The poacher will turn out to be Will Scarlett. A quick costume change later and he'll join the Merry Men and give you a horn which you can use to call them. Whenever you see Maid Marian, talk to her. After about four increasingly passionate exchanges, she'll give you a magic ring as a love token. Select the ring and another character to see their strengths and attitudes to you and to the Normans. Friar Tuck takes bags of money from the church to the castle at regular intervals. Rob him, then give the money back to gain his support and a monk's habit. Not sure of the use for this yet. Maybe to get into the castle undetected? At some stage you'll see a man or woman sitting by the front entrance to the castle. Talk to them and they'll tell you they're starving and have no money. Give them some money. A few extra things. There's an archery target in the southwest. Go there and Robin will practice with his bow and arrow. This may ultimately improve his aim ... I avoided using the bow and arrows as each time I did, I invariably shot an innocent passer-by! Not a good idea in the hero stakes! The dragon will attack and kill peasants at random. Talking to him gets the information that he has a thorn in his paw. However I couldn't work out how to remove it (if, indeed, he's telling me the truth!). What ever you do, don't follow him into his lair. Any more hints will be very welcome!
