Abandoned Places (Electronic Zoo) - Part 3 Seer's Point, Lake of Dreams Solution by Brian Burke @~Continued from the last file. Seer's Point: Your task is to find the first piece of the Globe of Forthcoming. Map on a 28 x 28 grid. Using search mode, find entrance just about opposite second tree where green meets brown. Enter down the stairs. There are now four doors in front of you. You receive a message to your right and left. I'll refer now to the passages as A (for the extreme left passage), B, C and D (on the extreme right). There is much alternating between the passages. Go D - enter and press button on wall to left. Go A - fight, open next door to find red key. Go B - use red key when through first door to find green key. Go A - use green key, press button on wall to left. Go C - go through two doors to find green key. Fight for morning star. Go D - use green key and press button in wall to right. Go A - fight for food and press button in wall to right. Go D - press button in wall to left. Find green key. Go C - use green key, press button in wall to left. Go B - fight and find red key. Go D - use red key, fight for torch and blue key. Go B - use blue key, press button in wall to right. Go C - fight and find yellow key. Go D - use yellow key, press button in wall to right. Go A - press button in wall to left. Go B - press button in wall to right. Go D - find blue key at end of passage. Go A - use blue key, fight and find yellow key. Go B - use yellow key, press button in end wall. Nearly there! Go C to enter area. Phew. Bearing left and keeping left will bring you to a room with two monsters. This means ignoring the first passage to the right. Use weapons on them. Leaving this room and keeping left past the way you entered find a baddie in an alcove after a few turns but keeping a left bias. Return to the corridor (C) and take the passage we passed on the right. Keeping right will lead to another room with two monsters. One leaves a torch when killed. Taking the right exit and bearing right will lead to a room with two chests. One contains food whilst the other has food, torches and part of the Globe of Forthcoming. (IF you can't enter this passage then it's down to my headphones and Marillion this time. Just bear right as indicated below and return later). Leaving this room and heading right then straight up brings you in contact with two more monsters to find a third in a room to the left. The corridor in which you've just met the two monsters has a passage to the right, take this and go right and then left to find a door. Enter and fight for money. Go left through another door to fight three monsters, two of them have food. Return down corridor past the door you entered by to find another door. This door has a button that, when pressed, opens another door that is down the corridor to the right and a couple of left hand bends to find the door on the left. Fight two more monsters, one of whom has a torch. Before you press the button on this door explore the corridor behind to fight for a torch. The monster in the other room once the button is pressed also has a torch. Leave area. On exiting you see a vision giving you directions to the Island south of the mainland, to the North Shore of the Lake of Dreams and the Southern area of the Mystic Mountains. This is where the next two pieces of the Globe are hidden. Head south to catch the boat. If you need to sell objects in your Inventory then go to Kal Kalon or Twilight to do so. You can get class promotion on the Island but can't trade. Lake of Dreams: The task is to find the second piece of the Globe of Forthcoming. Map entry level and second teleport level (message rooms) 13 x 16 (approx). First teleport level 16 x 15. Third teleport level 18 x 12. The party can take two steps only in safety. The next step to the left or straight on will teleport to another area. You will fight almost immediately after the teleport. Go left at first and pass over a message space 'Mind your Step'. There's nothing in the room beyond so return to passage and head up to the next turning on the left. Pass a door on the right and, round the bend, find another door. Open this, fight and passing web on the left find a turquoise key and a lever. The lever opens a door just a little further down the passage. Go here and enter to find chest with money and potions, a web and two levers. I don't know what the lever to the left of the web opens but the lever near the chest opens a door down the corridor to the right. In this other room find a yellow key. The corridor opposite this last room has a baddie guarding a room. There's nothing in the room. Return to original corridor and keep going up. A small passage on the left leads to an alcove with money. Keep on to take final passage on the left. On again to clear web with Fire Path spell. Nip through and use yellow key on door. Fight and go right in room to pull lever that opens the door in the second passage. Return to this room and find chest with food and potions. Pull lever to be teleported to another area. In this passage are five doors. In each one is a message activated by a pressure plate one step into the room. First you need to zap the baddies. The correct message is the last one - LSRL. Note the spelling of the names. Going right past some rocks on the left and heading down the passage will teleport you to another area. In your maps the area you've just left was the passage straight on from the original passage and the area you've just arrived in is the passage to the left. Just throw a torch and you'll see it when you leave. This new area has three doors. Same pattern as the five doors, just explanatory messages this time. From the last door head up the passage to be teleported to an enclosed room with levers. Turn until you have a lever facing the party, this is S for straight, and a lever both to the left and right. Follow the sequence left lever, re-position the party and pull straight ahead lever and so on to complete right and left levers. Turn to find chest with second piece of Globe, some cloaks, Magic Missile staff and food. Use the turquoise key in the keyhole to be teleported yet again. Head up the passage here. There's a pressure plate to the right. Open door here and fight. DO NOT go to the left in this room as you're teleported backwards. Leave room and head up passage and bear right. Fight two baddies and head over another pressure plate. I think these plates open the invisible doors that can be found to the right of the lever you've just found. Don't enter here yet. Pull the lever and return to the hall area and go right to find door opened by the lever. Fight and enter passage. You'll come across some rocks. The fourth rock down flashes when you pass it. I was never quick enough to enter the rock. You only get one chance so maybe if you've a speed potion it'd help? There's another flashing rock round the corner, this time the third one along. Should you fail, as I did, return to the lever and head through the wall back to the start position. Head up the stairs and onto the next piece of Globe. It's worth visiting the castle first to see if the Party qualifies for any promotion. Any monster encounters en route will help. @~One more section coming up in the next file!
