Heimdall - Core Design RRP œ34.99 (Adventure/arcade game for Amiga, PC and ST) Reviewed on the Amiga by Andy Stenhouse The evil Loki has stolen the weapons of the Gods and you must get them back, that is the premise of the game. Heimdall is an interesting mixture of adventure and arcade game but don't worry, the arcade element is not too hard to get used to - it just requires a little careful timing and is mainly for fights but there are three arcade games at the start that you can skip if you wish. If you do try them you will gain better skills in the main game. The first of the arcade games is the axe throwing. Here you must throw axes at the maid's hair and cut the strands, this is not easy because you have had a little too much to drink. The next game is the pig chase, here you have to catch the greased pig and you are still drunk. The last of the three arcade games is on the boat, you must reach the far left side of the boat and collect the pouch then return to the far right with it while the other Vikings try to stop you. The main game starts after you choose five members of the party to accompany Heimdall on his quest. Only three people can leave the ship at a time. The main part of the game takes part on many islands and is in a 3D perspective. Heimdall is good fun and will keep you interested for a long time, the puzzles are good and the difficulty level is just right. This is a game that I would recommend to anyone who likes RPGs.
