Legend - a couple of early puzzle rooms There are other puzzle rooms in the early stages of Legend but these two are especially tricky. 1. Treihadwyl Level 2 You enter this room from the east side and there's a door in the south wall. Unfortunately there's a strip of water between it and you. There are several damage runes in the room but, if you get your runemaster to cast some spells, you'll find only one is accessible. There's also a lever here which looks useful but, again, it's across the water. In the northwest corner of the room are two shooting pillars. One points south, the other east. Make sure your runemaster has some missile damage (MD) and missile damage damage (MDD) spells ready. First cast MD at the rune. One of the water tiles becomes a skull tile. Now cast MDD at the rune. Another water tile turns into a skull tile. Send one character eg the berserker across to the lever. Push it. One of the shooting pillars turns to face south. Cast MD at the rune and the other pillar will turn to face east. Push the lever. The first pillar will also turn east. Cast MDD at the rune and the two skull tiles will vanish and another one will appear by the door. Cast MD at the rune and one of the tiles will reappear. Push the lever again so the pillars are facing east and south. Cast MD at the rune and the first pillar turns south. Push the lever again and the second pillar turns east. Cast MDD at the rune and the first skull tile reappears, making a route to the south door. 2. Fagranc Level 1 This room looks easy, but it isn't! You enter through the south door and there is an exit to the north. A chest is along the west wall and there are two pads on the floor, one blue, one green. Get two characters to stand, one each, on the two pads. You'll have to do the blue pad first as that shifts the floor so that you can reach the green pad. You've probably noticed that stepping on certain floor tiles teleports the moving character back to the start. Work out the safe routes through the room. One takes you to the door in the north wall and you'll find you need a ruby key to unlock it. Yes, you've guessed it - it's in the chest. And you can't open the chest because when a character steps on the tile in front of the chest to open it, he (or she) gets teleported to the start. Occasionally, if the route to the front of an object is blocked, a character will take items from the side. That's what you must do here. Position one character near the 'ruby' door and put two others so that they block his route to the front of the chest, leaving the side free. To stop them moving out of the way, get the runemaster to cast a paralysis spell at them! Now get the first character to open the chest. He opens it from the side and can then collect the key!
