Contributions My thanks to this issue's contributors: John Barnsley, Alan Beer, The Bitmap Kid, Brian Burke, The Grue, Alex van Kaam, "Kedenan", Tom Lorimer, Alex McEwan, Steve McLaren, Matthew Pegg, Kev Phillips, Ron Rainbird, Neil Shipman, Roy Sims, Stalker, Andy Stenhouse and Graham Wheeler. The points-for-prizes system introduced some time ago as an incentive for contributions has proved to be very successful. To recap, points are awarded at the rate of 1 point per published K of information in the form of reviews, solutions, hints, maps, letters and articles. At the end of a year (Issue 23 this time), the top five contributors will be awarded prizes in the form of Myth and Magic figures of various sizes, the first prize being presented on a wooden base with a specially engraved plaque. The first prize winner will also get a year's free sub to SynTax, five free issues to the second prize and so forth. Those five individuals' points are then zeroed and everyone else's carried forward for the next year, giving everyone a chance to win a prize if he or she keeps contributing steadily. Here is the new points list, from 3pts upwards: Brian Burke 106.5 "Kedenan" 85.7 The Grue! 82.6 Matthew Pegg 58.8 Ron Rainbird 56.3 John Barnsley 45.4 Henry Rushing 37.9 Neil Shipman 35.4 Ian Taylor 32.2 Alan Beer 27.3 Richard Hewison 25.6 Alex McEwan 24.6 Roy Sims 23.5 Graham Cluley 22.8 Tony Woolcock 22.6 John Carter 19.5 The Rochdale Balrog 19.4 The Wayfarer 17.7 Phil Darke 16.8 Steven Fleischaker 16.3 Andy Stenhouse 15.9 Kev Phillips 14.9 Kjell Robertsen 12.8 Claire Dyard 12.6 George Smith 12.3 Steve Cook 10.9 Dave Barker 10.6 Paul Cardin 9.0 The Bitmap Kid 7.7 High Voltage 7.7 Graham Wheeler 7.3 STormbringer 6.9 Steve McLaren 6.9 Tom Lorimer 6.4 Ray and Jo Green 6.0 Jack Lockerby 5.9 Stalker 5.9 Bill Commons 5.8 Jay Blank 4.5 Alex van Kaam 3.7 So, if you have any contributions for future issues of SynTax, please send them in. They can be for old or new games and of virtually any length. You can send hints, solutions, reviews, maps, articles - anything! Ideally they should arrive before the 15th of the month before the disk is produced to be sure of being included in the next issue. Second opinions of adventures are always welcome. Ideally I'd like ST, PC and Amiga contributions in ASCII form on disk and, if you send on disk, I'll replace it with the PD disk of your choice. Otherwise they can be sent as printouts, typed or hand-written. If you're sending hints, the "3-in-1" format would be preferred, with a maximum of 63 characters/line. Maps can be sent in any form you like.
