I have just finished reading my first copy of Syntax and think it
is great. It is just what I have been looking for.  As I told you
when I sent for my first copy, I am a Blind Person and have just
recently started with Computers.  My Computer is an Amstrad 1640
with twin drives and mono screen.  To make the Computer talk I had
to buy a Speech Processing Unit which cost over œ250 and a Program
called Hal Screen Reader. These items were developed especially
for Blind people, but I think that they sell them to anyone who
has that kind of money to spend. If you want more information on
the Company concerned please let me know and I will send you the
address in case you want a catalogue from them.  By the way I had
to use LIST.COM to read the Magazine as I kept getting a Runtime
Error when using READER.

@~Tom not only arranged for me to get a copy of the catalogue, he
@~gave me a demo of the unit/program over the phone, showing me
@~how it coped with a short section of the game 'Space Aliens
@~Laughed at my Cardigan'.  It really is excellent and though Tom
@~says it has problems with certain words you can get it to spell
@~them out a letter at a time if you need. If you know of anyone

@~As for the READER problem, someone else had also reported
@~Runtime errors. I've passed the query across to Graham Cluley to

...I would like to give Virgo Developments the thumbs up for
brilliant service and recommend the company to anyone. The other
week I sent off for a 1.5mb upgrade on a Wednesday and I thought I
would receive it one day this week but when I got home from work
on Friday, there was the package. So it took them one day to turn
round my order. This is what I call service. Well done to Virgo!

So Friday night I had my Amiga in bits and I was really surprised
that there is not much inside the Amiga. So I read the
instructions and fitted the upgrade in 3 hours. So from a novice
point of view I thought that was not bad.
