Secret of Monkey Island (Part 5)

   A Guide as played on an Amiga 500 (1 meg) by Ron Rainbird.

At sea - but your Crew is too fond of the Good Life and turns
mutinous, proving to be an obstacle to your Quest rather than the
indispensable help you anticipated. You will have to do everything
yourself so start by searching the Captain's Cabin where you will
find a Log Book which makes very interesting and helpful (?)
reading. There is also some ink and a pen to grab hold of.

If you go below decks you will discover the Cook's working
quarters (the Galley) and in a cupboard there, you will find a box
of Cornflakes or some such cereal. Open it to find a key. This
will open a cabinet in the Captain's Cabin in which there is a
chest containing cinnamon sticks and paper. Take these and examine
them. Go down to the hold under the Crew's Quarters and you will
find a bottle of Wine. Also in the hold is a Keg of Gunpowder;
grab a handful.

Go topside and climb the ladder to the Crow's Nest to get the
"Jolly Roger" flag. Now go down to the Galley and throw into the
boiling pot a few breath mints, ink, flag, rubber chicken, a
cinnamon stick, some wine, a handful of cereal and the gunpowder.
The resulting explosion will knock you out, but when you recover
you find that you are within sight of Monkey Island, but with no
means of getting there from the ship.  Pity you didn't learn to
swim but you did learn how to be fired from a cannon.

Back to the hold for another handful of gunpowder and a length of
rope, then up to the Galley for a small pot. Go to the cannon and
put the gunpowder in the cannon's mouth. Make a fuse out of the
rope and go back to the Galley to use a T Shirt as a blazing torch
by touching it to the fire under the boiling pot.  Run back to the
cannon, ignite the fuse, rush to the mouth of the cannon and wait
to be shot clear across the intervening stretch of water to Monkey
Island.
