News Alone in the Dark from Infogrames is out now, featuring fully animated 3D graphics and taking place in real time. It's a horror tale, set in the mansion Derceto, which is said to be haunted by an evil presence. Its previous owner died there - was it suicide? Now you're about to enter the mansion - all alone in the dark ... Mega Lo Mania and Populous II have been converted for the PC after a long wait. MLM is from Ubi Soft and Populous II from Bullfrog. Pop2 needs a massive 11Mb of disk space on the PC; likewise the Amiga version of SimEarth has arrived and needs 1 Meg of RAM to run in low res, 2 Meg of RAM for high res! Needless to say a hard disk is recommended ... Campaign is a 'tactical and strategic wargame simulation' - so it says on the box. Coming from Empire, it's for the PC and Amiga and features over 20 WW2 scenarios and up to 3000 vehicles of 150 types at your command. The playing area covers up to 10 million square kilometres and there's a map editor provided too. If you've got a high-spec PC, look out for the latest in the King's Quest series. King's Quest VI:Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow needs an optimum speed of 25MHz and takes 13Mb disk space (19Mb with the intro). Ween:The Prophecy is a French game published by Digital Integration. The graphics are said to be excellent but the French to English translation a little suspect! The aim of the game is to collect three magical grains of sand, put them in the Hourglass of Power and save the Kingdom of The Blue Rocks. If you get stuck, you can play a joker to get a clue which is a neat idea (tho' maybe too tempting ...) Origin's Wing Commander has finally made it onto the Amiga. It sells for œ35 but, be warned - it needs either 1 meg of RAM or 1.5 meg space on a hard drive.
