Andy's Hints and Tips Taken from a phone call from Andy Stenhouse Humans - a cheat ---------------- You're normally limited to the number of humans in each tribe. There are some levels where the object of the level isn't to do with rescuing humans but there's a trapped one that you have the option to rescue if you want. Rescue him, quit, restart the level and the rescued one will be included in your tribe. Dungeon Master - hints ---------------------- Following the DM guide last issue where we were advised not to take a character with very little mana, there is one good character with low mana - Daroo, a big hairy chap. He only has 6 mana but shows good speed going up through the levels once he gets started, He has 100 health points at the start too. When I finished the game, he was the best wizard I had. And now a genuine cheat for DM! You'll need the firestaff and the gem attached to it so you can cast flux cage. Stand in front of a pit and cast flux cage. It falls down into the pit. Step into the pit and you'll fall inside the cage. Any objects you drop here and pick up again will leave a duplicate on the floor. You can do this as often as you like so, if you wanted, you could equip each character with a firestaff! @~Dave Barker also pointed out over the 'phone that certain @~objects found in DM will increase a character's mana eg the @~vorpal blade. Bard's Tale 1 - surviving the early stages ------------------------------------------ Keep fighting the samurai statue to build up your party. Eye of the Beholder 2 - character creation ------------------------------------------ At the beginning of the game you have to set up your characters. The fighter strength can be put to maximum, it goes to 18+ but magic users (wizards, healers) can't go as high. But there's a way round this! Put the strength as high as you can go then go down the list one by one and increase each attribute to the maximum. Then go back to strength and you'll find you can now increase the strength to the maximum.
