When he finally goes take the key from the planter and the rose. SCORE 22pts Go to the corporation lobby and give the rose to the receptionist, who will then give you a magazine telling you about Becker. Go to armoury and unlock the vent with the key, press the button and wait. When a robot appears in the vent get the gun and give it to the robot. Now go to room T52 and unlock the vent with the key press the button and wait. When the robot appears take the gun. SCORE 57pts Go to room T20 and wait until 3:00pm for your ship handling lessons. You will be given a blue badge and will also be assigned 6 course missions. Now go to the VR terminal in the corporation building, the tech will explain about the VR and offer you his Pedroza pin badge if you can crack it. Lie on couch and wear the collar, then press the button. To crack the beach VR, you must get your drink and then give it to Sam the bartender. Keep repeating this until he collapses, then get the drink from the bar and place it in the scanner. The VR will collapse and you will be able to take the pin. Keep buying drinks for Thom and he will tell you about a hot tip he's got and will then go and find someone for you. Nubar will now appear in the bar, ask Nubar about his medallion. In the morning go to the hanger entrance and show blue badge to the agent, she will program your ship with the 6 course codes and allow you to board your ship. Examine the control panel and select your first course code. 1st mission, you take pictures of a nebula and return to Gateway and are given a mission bangle. 2nd mission, you find a black hole and return to Gateway. 3rd mission, you see Andromeda and return to Gateway. 4th mission, you take pictures of some fragments and return to Gateway. 5th mission, you find a dying star (red giant) and return to Gateway. 6th mission, you find a planet (Dyan 7) that has a small concentration of Heechee metal, so you land. Once landed go to the plateau and push the rock. Now go back down to below cave, you can now go north into the cave (Entry Chamber). Enter the opening just before it appears to find the Ovoid room, take the box and return to your ship then Gateway. You get a 25,000 reward for finding a Heechee artefact. SCORE 187pts Go to Blue Hell Bar and wait until 22:00 and Terri Neilson will arrive, give the memo to her. She will then tell you all about the Orion program, she gives you her PV number and tells you that you can prove yourself worthy of the Orion program by making two trips in your ship and also finding a legit Heechee artifact. SCORE 202pts Go back to your quarters and turn on the comset. Select place call and type in Terri's PV number. She will check your records and then ask you to meet her in the Blue Hell Bar in 30 minutes to discuss your green badge. Go to Blue Hell Bar and wait for Terri, she will tell you about the briefings in room T52 at 9:00 daily, where you can exchange your blue badge for a green one. Go back to your quarters and sleep. Go to room T52 for briefing at 9:00, you will be given your green badge and your Orion course codes. Now go to your ship and select the course code, this will take you to the planet ALEPH 4. ALEPH 4 Go to the lake shore and wait for a salamander to appear and take it. Now go to the Mutzer village and enter the chief's hut, then go down to under the hut and wait until you hear a sloshing sound. Go back up into the hut and place the salamander in the tank, the salamander will get out of the tank carrying the cylinder. Go to the lake shore again and take the cylinder, now go to base of dome. At the base of dome put the cylinder in the slot and select the correct sequence (44325) to enter the dome. Once inside the dome take the red, blue and yellow fans and then climb onto the machine. Examine the slots and put the... red fan in yellow slot yellow fan in blue slot blue fan in red slot. A machine will detach itself from the platform, take it and return to Gateway. SCORE 347pts Once you reach Gateway you will find yourself in Part II. Part II After you have returned from Aleph 4 go to your quarters and turn on the commset. Play new messages and you will have a message from someone telling you to meet them in the tanning room just off the Pedroza Lounge. Go to the tanning room and talk to the man. He will tell you that the machine you found on Aleph 4 is of great importance and you must go to the corporation offices immediately. It seems you have been chosen for a special 4 part mission. Go to the corporation offices. Worden explains to you that he wants you to activate a Heechee cloaking system and that the machine was to deliver a warning. It seems another alien race called the Assassin who destroys intelligent life is still alive. There are four shield generators which will protect the Heechee and other intelligent life forms from the Assassin but the Heechee panicked before turning them on. The machine has given the four course codes to the worlds where the shields are, you have to travel to each of the four worlds and activate the shields. WORLD l...AURIGAE 6 Get the cracked prism and go to residence, then drop the cracked prism and take the clear prism. Go back to the landing pad and put the clear prism in the depression, put the bright cube in the socket and stand on the teleport disk. You will be transported to the city center, go to temple court and take a beetle. Now go back to residence and put the bright cube in socket and clear prism in depression. When the window opens put the beetle in the oval depression and take the pyramid then make your way back to temple court. Once back at temple court take the northeast exit into an octagonal room, make your way to the center ( SE - E - NW - S - W - SE - N ) Then just put the pyramid on the stand and go back to the temple court. You will now find the control panel is accessible, turn knob, pull lever and press button. You will have activated the first shield and can now return to your ship and Gateway. WORLD 2...KADUNA 3 At the jungle clearing get a pod then go to anemone thicket and wait until a giant spider appears. Shoot the spider and when it rears up on its hind legs shoot it again. Take the gun and you will get covered in spider ichor, this will allow you to pass through the anemone thicket and you reach a swamp. Wait until a worm attaches itself to your spacesuit and then feed worm to tentacle. A pterosaur will kill the octopus allowing you to pass the swamp to a field. At the field throw the pod and a small rat will try to get it but the spikeball plant kills it. Take the dead rat and the spike from the tree and go on until you reach the plaza. At the plaza feed the rat to the snake and open the door and go inside the tower. Stab the slug with the spike (twice), you can now turn on the second shield. Turn knob, pull lever and press button. You can now return to your ship and Gateway. SCORE 582pts WORLD 3...DORMA 5 Go to northern shore and take the small stone then go to dark forest and wait for a beast to appear. Wait until he enters the cave on the SE side of the clearing, now you can enter the clearing and go into the cave on the north side. Once inside the tunnel antechamber take the bowl and then go to the NW shore and put the stone in the bowl. Now fill the bowl with berries, then make your way back to the tunnel antechamber (making sure the beast is in the other cave first) and place the bowl on the floor. Return to the dark forest and take a vine and branch, then wait until the beast enters the antechamber. Quickly go into the SE cave and make your way to the crystal cave. Inside the crystal cave hit the shard with the branch, take it and go to edge of forest and clean the mud off it in the pond. Go back to the clearing and wait for the beast to appear, he will be transfixed by the crystal and you will be able to tie him up with the vine. Once you've tied him up go to the western shore (avoiding the pond). Now you go up onto the dike but the beast will remain on the shore. Throw the crystal in the pond. The beast will pick up the huge boulder, before he throws it at you quickly enter the pond. As the beast throws the boulder it lands in the hole in the dike. An unseen force will pull you toward the bottom of the pond and you will find yourself in the shield generator room. Turn on the third shield, turn knob, pull lever, press button. Enter the small pool and return to your ship and Gateway. SCORE 782pts WORLD 4...NEMIRA 3 Go to deep shaft and get the pickaxe then go to crash site and take the whistle. Now go to mountain trailhead and meet Becker, shake hands with him and listen to what he has to say. After he has gone, go to river overlook and dig in the ground three times, you find some ore. Now go to Becker's treehouse and read his notebook, open the drawer in the desk and take the calipers and discharger. Go back down into the garden and examine the jubifruitus plant, take the leaves from the plant and go to pinnacles. Blow the whistle to get rid of the bird, take the rope and cross the bridge to Becker's house. Once inside Becker's house ask him about the lens cover, he says if you have something special for him he will give it to you. Now give ore to Becker, then follow him to his garden. He checks the ore for quality and then hands you the lens cover. Go to the meadow and tie rope to tree, swing across the rope and get the focal lens from the other side of the chasm. Now go to the crash site and open the maintenance crib to find a flange defuser and a grommet wrench. Remove grommet with wrench to reveal an actuator cylinder, then unscrew the cap. Now connect blue clip to pyramid anode and connect gray clip to tetrahedron anode, now remove flange with defuser and remove core with calipers to reveal an actuator cell. Take the cell and go to Becker's house again and give the leaves to the gopheria. When he jumps off the control panel take the small mat and put it on the floor. Put the cell in the slot, the lens cover in the socket and lens in tray. You can now turn on the fourth shield, turn knob, pull lever and press button. You can now return to your ship and Gateway but on your way back to the ship you will meet Becker who will ask if you will take him back with you, say YES. SCORE 997pts Part III ENDGAME Once you have activated the four shields and returned to Gateway, you will be taken to the board room and told about a fifth component in the defence system. The shield won't work until this fifth part is activated. They don't know the code for the fifth component but they believe the information is stored right here on Gateway and you must find a sphere which will give you the information. Go to Gateway Museum and put the medallion in the depression and then take the tuning fork. Place the tuning fork in the Heechee device and a hologram of a tuning fork will appear above the disk. Take the disk and place it on the pedestal, thus deactivating the alarm. Now take the tuning fork (the real one) and go to corridor B4 and hide inside the crate. SCORE 1027pts Once inside the crate wait until around 12:00pm and a man will come in, he puts something into the wall and walks through it, as he does he drops a bit of paper. Get out of the crate and get the paper, examine it and you will see a five digit code (random). Hit the tuning fork and a blister will appear on the wall, examine the blister and you will see two square holes, place the tuning fork in the holes and a keypad appears. Type in the five digit code to reveal a portal, enter the secret room and take the sphere. You find a small gold button set into its surface, press the button and a holographic star map appears. Take the sphere to Worden in the board room. Back at the board room Worden explains because of your success it has been decided that you must travel to the vertex to activate the fifth component. But first you will have to undergo a psychological test to see if you are mentally prepared. Go to the VR terminal and lie on the couch. wear the collar and turn switch to Deep Psych, type in the password and press the button. In Deep Psych, wait once and then jump over the crack then wait until the demon starts to panic and begins scratching at the door. Lift the demon so he can open the door, you have succeeded in cracking the Deep Psych VR and can now proceed with your mission. SCORE 1140pts Go to your ship and set the final course code that will take you to the vertex. You ship will get caught in a tractor beam, wait until it docks with a satellite then open the hatch and go out. Once in the satellite open the compartment and wear the collar and then get the globe. You receive a message from a Heechee VR telling you about a warning message and that the collar you have on contains the program, and how you must destroy the Assassin. Enter the travel pod and press the pedal, you will be transported to the planet's surface. At the other end touch the globe and you will be ushered in and the hostess gives you a gold credit card. (This is another VR simulation). Play some games until you have enough money to enter the card game in the secluded bar. At the secluded bar show card to Flint and he offers you a seat at the card table. Get cards, deal cards, put credit card in slot. Instead of placing a bet, FOLD immediately, even if you have a winning hand. The VR will collapse. SCORE 1200pts After the VR has collapsed you find yourself in front of a throne with a demon sitting on it. He is the keeper of the gate, this is another VR simulation and again you must force it to collapse. Throw dust over the hydra. Because you are invisible it will attack itself and the VR will collapse. It appears you have finished your mission and are returned to Gateway. SCORE 1335pts Go to your quarters and sleep. When you wake you see the light is flashing on the commset, turn it on. You see another message from the Heechee VR, telling you that you are not really back on Gateway but in another VR simulation created by the Assassin to delay you. To defeat the Assassin all you have to do is enter the Deep Psych VR again and the Heechee VR will do the rest. Go to the VR terminal and get the manual and read it. You find the password for the Deep Psych VR is date dependent but the rest of the page is blank, and you can't see any passwords. Take the manual to the tanning room and read it again, this time the strange lights in the tanning room reveal the list of password codes for the Deep Psych VR. Go back to the VR terminal and lie on the couch. Wear collar and type in the correct password for the particular day you are on. All you have to do now is press the button to enter Deep Psych, the Assassin will be destroyed and the cloaking system will be activated. SCORE 1505pts Special notes : You do not have to score full points to finish the game. Some point scoring actions do not have any bearing on the game whatsoever. Once you have tied the beast up with the vine, you must not untie him! If you do, you will not be able to complete the game. If when you open the vent, you do not find a button, quit the game and reload the game. When you are in the first location restore and you will find the missing button.
