Nothing. Fortunately, future Falcon owners don't have to worry about this problem, for there are already over 200 pieces of software in development, at least 25 of which of which will be ready in the next two months. Even these 25 take advantage of most, if not all, of the Falcon's features. Here is a short list of the some of the Falcon software you'll be seeing within a year: Chagall A professional 24-bit paint program Comic Maker A program that allows you to create comics using library files D2D Edit A stereo audio direct to disk recording system DA Vector A 24-bit colour vector graphics/animation package Devpac 3 New full 68030 compatible version of this popular assembler Digitape A six track direct to disk recording system with DSP effects Dunacadd CAD package Falcon Speed A 286 emulator which runs faster than a 386!! Falcon GCR A Mac emulator which runs faster than a Quadra!! HiSoft Basic2 - 68030 version, fully compatible JRI Genlock Genlock specific for the Falcon with video tilting Lattice C Fully 68030 compatible GAMES HUMANS Lemmings style game taking advantage of the Falcon's features. ISHAR Adventure RPG taking advantage of Falcon's features. TRANSARCTICA Strategy game. TORNADO 3D polygon flight sim SPACE JUNK Space adventure CHAOS ENGINE The Falcon version of the Bitmap Brothers game ROME AD72 A great adventure HARRIER AV8B Flight sim That's all I can report on at the moment, most Falcon info is still secret. But there are, as you can see, some truly amazing packages coming along for the Falcon as well as some really good games, all of which are completely new or have been upgraded from the ST, PC or Amiga versions. If STOS works on the Falcon, the ST version of SynTax should. If STOS doesn't work, then I'm sure that a new STOS will be released, or perhaps someone could write a SynTax Falcon version in another Falcon language, we'll just have to wait and see..... If you ARE getting a Falcon (good on 'ya!), and STOS doesn't work, you'll still be able to read SynTax articles because they are in ST ASCII format, which the Falcon can read. However you won't, of course be able to use the menus, unless STOS does work! If after this and the last Falcon article anyone still has any question or comments, or would like updates of the article, send all questions to me, The Bitmap Kid, at the normal SynTax address.
