Football Management Simulations (1) Introduction By Piotr Tyminski Since football management sims are one of the most popular games on the market and since millions of people (including software houses, programmers and disk-based mag editors) have been begging me to write some more unbelievably excellent reviews I have mercifully decided to produce a couple of them although, honestly, it will not make me more famous (well, how could I become even MORE famous than I am, eh?). So starting with Gremlin's "Premier Manager" I'll go through "Championship Manager", "Professional Football Masters", "Division One Rev. 1", "Football Magic", "Football Tactician", "The Manager" and possibly some more, in case I decide to become even more football crazy (and knowing myself I will) and buy "Soccer Supremo", "Football Tactician 2" and maybe a sequel to "Championship Manager" (they try to hide it but I know they're just about to finish it). Since I do not buy games just to review them (although I'm awfully rich and I could easily afford it) but first of all to PLAY them to death I'll let you know how they REALLY work, i.e. not like those glossy mags' reviewers who review AMIGA versions pretending they played them on the ST (and even if they do it seems they do it in a hurry, they're probably afraid of being sacked for not writing enough so every morning before going to work so they try to boot as many games as possible and review them in the subway on the way to their office). I'll do my best to let you know how they all look, how it is to play them and how REAL they are. When I'm finished with them - unless there are some more published; in this case I'll never finish anything - I'll make a short summary so you could know what is hard drive installable and what's not, what kind of printer support you get, are all Cups covered and, basically, what's good and what's a total rip off. Please note all games mentioned have been played on the ST, but since many of them are available for the PC and AMIGA too, there's really not much difference. So stay tuned, you'll not find such brilliant reviews anywhere else. Small footnote: Eeer... actually it was me begging Sue to publish any of my crap things. She even promised to to do so (she must've been drunk!) so I really feel like a megalomaniac now. Even my psychiatrist said things got better recently. Thank you.
