Space Quest V - Sierra Solution by Pete Phillips This solution does not provide precise details as to where to find all the inventory and actions needed to complete the game. Instead it gives essential (hopefully) information to finish it and still have an adventure. Trying to Qualify: 1. Walk around to space station looking at doors until you find the lecture room. 2. Enter the room. You will find a test is about to start. 3. Sitting on your right is an alien with a large head. When the robot invigilator is looking towards the back of the class, look at the alien's paper. 4. Select on your paper the same answers as the alien. There are ten questions to answer. 5. When the test is over, find the janitor's cupboard. Open cupboard and remove the cones and scrub-o-matic. 30 pts. 6. Walk round the space station until you come to a passage on the right. Turn right and stand on lift. You will descend to the Starcon Crest which you have to clean. 7. Put out cones and scrub-o-matic and then use the scrub-o-matic to clean all of the crest. Make sure you get it completely clean. 8. You will get a cut scene with Ambassador Wankmeister and Captain Quirk. Just watch it. 9. Start to return to the notice board outside the classroom. A cut scene will appear of a mouse damaging the score computer followed by one of Ambassador Wankmeister addressing the crew. 10. Go back to the classroom and look at the notice board. You've qualified!!! 180 pts. In Eureka: Droole and Flo greet you. 1. Sit in seat. 2. Ask Flo to hail Starcon. You get clearance to leave and a mission brief. 3. Ask Droole to set course to Gangularis. 4. Ask Droole to go to light speed. You will leave the space station and a ship will appear with WD40 on board. 5. When Droole announces you are approaching destination, ask for regular speed. 6. Flo will state that she is tracking a waste beacon. 7. Ask Droole to activate RRS. 8. The Eureka will pick it up. 280 pts. 9. Cliffy the Engineer will come on to say that something funny was picked up with the garbage. 10. Leave seat and go to investigate. 11. Operate button which opens the waste storage bay. Rubbish and Spike will fall out. Spike will jump on you. Very Alien. 300 pts. 12. Open Cliffy's tool box and remove hole punch, fuse, antacid tablets and laser cutting torch. 13. Tidy tool box and leave. 300 pts. 14. Return to bridge and sit down. Cliffy will come on and say that the creature you collected is piddling holes in the ship. 15. Go into the Science Lab and walk toward the platform. Spike will jump on you. 16. Open the Habitube and put Spike in it. Then add the antacid tablets. 370 pts. 17. Return to bridge and set off to Peeyu following the commands to Droole as above. 18. Again, pick up waste. 470 pts. 19. Flo will get an unusual message which she will put on the screen. 20. Set course for Ku and follow normal instruction procedure. 21. You will be attacked and held by WD40 who will tell you to beam down to the planet's surface. 22. Beam down using the voice activated transporter. 480 pts. On Ku: 1. Move under the waterfall and keep moving. 2. You will come out on a ledge. Exit to the right. You will see a tree across the river and fruit hanging from a second tree. 3. Without crossing the fallen tree, walk towards the fruit. The tree will snap and you will fall into the water. 4. Pick up the broken branch. 490 pts. Again, dodge WD40 and go under the waterfall. When you exit to the ledge, go into the cave on the left. 5. Jump ravine and walk to the loose rock on top of the cliff. 6. Use stick on rock. It will knock WD40 into water, thereby removing her cloaking abilities. 590 pts. 7. Jump back across ravine and return to fallen tree. 8. Cross gorge. You will see two banana-like fruits hanging from a vine. Use the stick on the left-hand side one and grab the left-hand side fruit as it swings. 9. Return to the area in which you beamed down. WD40 jumps out of the water. 10. Return to the fallen tree and get inside it. When WD40 lands on the tree use banana-like fruit on exhaust port. WD40 will be destroyed. 810 pts. 11. Pick up head and return to the beam down site to meet Cliffy. You beam up. On Eureka: 1. Go to ship's bay (it's in the floor) and collect re-breather and air cylinder from the various storage areas. 1065 pts. 2. Go to the bridge. But see Cliffy first. He gives you a piece of WD40. 3. Go to bridge and use seat. 4. Ask Flo for a status report. She suggests some R&R. Set course and go to Space Bar. At Space Bar: 1. The crew beam down. 2. Beam down yourself. 3. You see a familiar-looking alien above the transporter. Sit down with Flo and Droole. A cocktail waitress joins you and gives you drinks. 4. Nelo Jones, a dealer in artefacts, comes to deal. He gives you Dehydrated Space Monkeys and a business card. 5. Captain Quirk comes to insult you and challenges you to a game of Three Dimensional Battle Cruisers. 6. You have to win this game to progress. Once you have, you should have about 1100 pts. 7. Sit down with Flo and Droole and use Space Monkeys in the drink. 8. Alarms go off as Space Monkeys fill the air. 9. Exit to the right of the transporter into the cells. The guards run off when the alert is sounded. 10. Operate console and walk into the prison. Cliffy is in the second cell on the left. 11. Talk to Cliffy and then leave. 12. Transport to the Eureka and collect Spike. 13. Return to the Space Bar and use Spike on cell bars. 14. Cliffy will be freed. 15. Return to the Eureka. The Space Bar explodes. 1425 pts. On Eureka: 1. Flo gets a message from Starcon to go to Klorex II. 2. Set coordinates etc, and off you go. 3. But no waste beacon is found. Select standard orbit. 4. Call Cliffy. He tells you that you now have a Science Officer. Call WD40. 5. Ask for a scan of planet. 6. Put Spike back in Habitube and beam down to Klorex II. 1435 pts. Klorex II: 1. Droole beams down with you and goes off on his own. 2. Walk into building with holes in it. 3. Operate computer. 4. You will be attacked. Dodge slime and Droole will shoot man. 5. Pick up dropped paper and use it to access computer. 6. Read history of planet's destruction. 1515 pts. 7. Walk back to beam down site and walk to the left, past abandoned mining tools. You will find secret path. 8. You will be able to read the soup tin label. Note the place of manufacture. (41666 is the location on the star map you need to go to eventually). 1565 pts. 9. Beam back to Eureka. Eureka: 1. Flo picks up a weak emergency signal. 2. Head for Thrakus. Thrakus: 1. Stop, put on re-breather and beam down. 2. You will see an escape pod. Walk to it, operate button and get the coat. 1630 pts. 3. Walk to the left of the screen. You will be attacked by the Ambassador. 4. You will fall over the cliff. 5. Give coat to Ambassador. 6. Use communicator and climb up the vine the Ambassador drops down. You will beam up to the Eureka. Eureka: 1. Operate Cryo Chamber button. The Ambassador will give you the Goliath's warp distributor cap. Open chamber. Put Ambassador in it. 2. Look at chamber and read freezing instructions. 3. Set controls for 10 seconds and freeze the Ambassador. 4. Return to bridge, 1750 pts. You will be attacked. 5. During the attack take evasive action and go to the asteroid belt. 6. Cliffy leaves the ship to make repairs but drifts into the Asteroids. 7. Go down into the ship's hold and use the escape pod to go out and bring back Cliffy. 1945 pts. 8. Head back to Ku. Ku: 1. Find and board WD40's ship using the left-over part Cliffy gave you. 2. Open nondescript panel and remove the cloaking device. 3. Beam up to ship and give cloaking device to Cliffy. 2245 pts. Eureka: 1. Return to bridge and lay a course to the source of the soup manufacturers (41666). Genetix: 1. Beam down. You will be turned into a fly. 2. As a fly, hover near communicator. A frog will jump out of the water and turn it on for you. 3. Speak to Flo. She tells you to investigate an underground complex. 4. Fly to the card reader and enter the slot. 5. Note which beams need to be broken to cause the levels in the lock to operate. Record these. 6. Exit lock into laboratory. 7. Land on computer screen and walk on to restart. 8. Read Systems, Activity Log, Projects and Accounting by walking on them. 9. Turn on the Envirodome 3 Systems by walking onto it (under the Systems option) and then select Security. 10. You will see part of you in camera 1 and Cliffy and WD40 on camera 3. 11. Fly away and go to Cliffy and WD40. Talk to them. 12. Cliffy turns you back to normal. 13. By using the hole patch on the business card, produce a security card and use it in the card reader. 14. Open door. 3060 pts. 15. Enter lab again, walk to button and press it. Pick up nitrogen cylinders. 16. Beam up to Eureka. Eureka: 1. Spike indicates that you should put the Ambassador in the transporter. 2. Thaw Ambassador. 3. Open chamber and put her on transporter. 4. She is saved!!! 5. Return to bridge. 3230 pts. 6. Speak to Droole. He tells you his idea. 7. Ask WD40 to scan for ships. You're told that the Goliath is at Gingivitis. Go there. Gingivitis: 1. You will be approached by Goliath. 2. Ask Cliffy to cloak ship. 3. The Goliath is seen ahead of you. 4. Go to the lab as Cliffy has asked you to. 5. Cliffy shows you how to get into a safe area on Goliath. 6. Get into escape pod and fly to the second area from the rear of the Goliath. 7. Use laser torch to cut your way in. 3760 pts. Goliath: 1. Dodge the guard and go to control panel. 2. Put warp drive cap in place. 3. Avoid guard and go through door to passage. 4. Lift grating and hide under it. 5. This brings you to a maze of tunnels. You are on level 8. 6. Make your way by trial and error to the lift shaft. 7. Enter the lift shaft and, dodging the lift, make your way up to level 2. 8. One level two, you will find a button marked Shield Deactivation switch. Push it. 4300 pts. You will be dragged into the bridge of Goliath. 9. WD40 will appear and freeze everyone. You run to the transporter room. 10. When everybody is on the bridge, call to Cliffy. 11. You go back to the bridge and get a message from Flo. 12. Beam back to the Eureka. Eureka: 1. Go to the bridge. 2. Tell Droole to fire at the blob. 3. As it attacks, tell Droole to activate RRS. 4. Tell crew to abandon ship. 5. Activate self destruction mechanism. 6. Go to lab. 7. Free the Ambassador. 8. Get on transporter. It blows a fuse. 9. Go to the tunnel where the fuses are. 10. Remove the middle front one and replace it with the one you've had since the beginning. 11. Return to the lab and transport to the Goliath. Score 4905 pts. I've missed something somewhere. I must try harder. The End!!
