BMK BMK The Bitmap Kid Presents... ----------------------------- AN XLent Review of KIXX XL's Recent Adventure Re-Releases ------------------------------- Future Wars - Atari ST/STE/PC/AMIGA - œ14.99 I must admit Future Wars is one of the best adventure games I've played in a long time. For one, the graphics are superb - one of the scenes, a woodland, looks almost 100% realistic to me - this game was made by experts. Make that - this game was made by the French!! One minute you are a simple window cleaner with an angry boss. The next you're in the Middle Ages being beat up by rogue monks - just one of those days, isn't it?! Once again we see the great control from Delphine Software, the puzzles are fairly hard, not too tough, a little easy sometimes but that doesn't matter too much in this game considering that in every other respect it seems faultless. The only fault I can find, in fact, is that if you use a standard TV you'll find at least one of the puzzles (one of the first) impossible to solve. You must operate something on a single pixel, and although you may be able to see this pixel on a VDU, no way on a telly. However, once I got past that little problem (yes, yes, the BMK uses a portable telly - so what?) I found the game quite enjoyable. LOWDOWN. This is a great little adventure, however there are many others about just as good and better, all I'll say is you probably won't be disappointed if you decide to get it.
