BMK BMK The Bitmap Kid Presents... ----------------------------- Police Quest I - The Solution -------------------------------- In a sudden burst of activity here I am with YET ANOTHER full solution in this edition of SynTax! Am I not the kindest? The loveliest? The sweetest contributor around? Oh shut up then if you're gonna be like that! Walk Sonny to the doorway on the right lower part of the screen, this is the locker room. Here unlock the locker, take the ammunition, briefcase and gun. Open the briefcase and get the notepad, pen and ticket book. Close the case and locker and exit room. Go back to the hallway and move to the door in the upper right part of the screen, this is the briefing room. Quickly go to the lower right table and read paper, then put it back down again. Wait. When the others have arrived to be briefed, go to the top right table. Go to the only available space, turn to the chalkboard and wait. When the briefing has finished write notes. Now go over to the right wall and look in pigeonhole - get the note and read it. Next exit the room and go back to the hallway. Move over to the left wall and the keyboard. Take the patrol car keys and then walk over to the rear wall where the table is and take a radio extender. Now go down the hallway, behind the keyboard and exit station. The car is to the lower left side of the screen but before you get in check outside as a precaution so walk around the car close to each of your four tyres. Once you've done that, go over to the driver's door, open it, and get into the car. Close the door, get the nightstick and drive the car. You are now shown an overhead map, your position is approximately the top left major block. Drive for about five or six screens and you'll get a message from dispatch. Head to the collision at map point sector B2. Once there, park car, exit map, get out of car and go over to smashed up driver's door. Look at the man and then help him. Radio dispatch (tell 'em about the murder) and head over to the crowd. Talk to the crowd, when the young dude comes forward ask him if he got the licence number and radio dispatch again with the number. Now wait for the officers Dooley and Hamilton to turn up, then go back to car - get in and drive off. Keep driving until you get the message from Steve over the radio, then head to map point sector A3. Once you get there park the car and get out. Now enter Carol's Caffeine Castle. Once inside head over to the table on the left and sit down. Talk to Steve and wait until the coffee arrives, but don't drink it. You'll now get a phone call so go to the back wall where the telephone is, talk on the telephone and then go back to the table. Sit down and talk to Steve again. When you are told to go back to your car, go and drive it. You will soon see a red sports car go through a red light so overtake the red car and get it to pull over. Get out of car and go over to the back of the red car. Radio licence and then walk over to the drivers door. Look at girl and when you see the close-up of the face say hello. Tell her your name is Sonny Bonds and tell her she ran a red light, then say no. Write her a ticket and return her driver's licence. Ask her to please sign the ticket and give ticket to woman. Return to car and drive off. Drive until you get a message telling you to investigate a complaint at Carol's CC. Go there, park car and enter. Ask Carol about the complaint, and then exit and go to Wino Willy's. Walk over to the guy at the bar in the black coat and say please move your motor-cycles. Then use your nightstick. Once they have taken off, talk to the girl. Say do you have any information about the drugs and note down what she says. Now exit and return to car. Drive and shortly you should see a drunken driver. Overtake the car and get it to stop. Exit car and go to the back on the drunk driver's car and radio licence. Then walk over to the driver's door and look at man. Say show your driver's licence and then say get out of the car. Smell the man and administer the field sobriety test. Handcuff the man and say no. Search the man, then tell him to get into the patrol car. Walk behind him over to the patrol car's back door, open the back door and radio for a tow truck. Drive to map point sector D3 to the jail. Park in the jail parking lot, get out of the car and open back door. Wait when the drunk gets out, take him over to the jail steps and left to the lockers. Open the gun locker say put my gun in the gun locker, lock the locker. Go over to the button to the right of the big door and push it. When it opens, enter with the drunken driver following, say to jailer drunk driving. After his personal items have been noted down by the jailer, remove his handcuffs and take him to his cell. Exit jail and go to gun locker, get your gun and when all that's done (don't forget to close the locker!) return to your car and drive it. Head back to the station and walk to the first hallway. Here head for the table, write a memo and put the memo in the basket. Now move to the next hallway, listen to Dooley, enter his office via the door left bottom side, then look at the chicken. Talk to Dooley, leave office and talk to the other officers in the hallway to receive an invite. So go to the locker room, change clothes, twice, take the Corvette keys and close the locker. Exit locker room to the hallway where the keyboard is and return the patrol car keys. Them go over to the table and return the radio extender. Exit the station and enter parking lot. Get in Corvette, look in car, take the wallet. Drive off and head to map point B4 to the Blue Room. Park car, enter Blue Room, walk over to table where Jack is and sit down. Once the party has finished, leave and get back in car and head back to the station. Park the car and head back to the station. Enter the locker room and change your clothes. Get all, open briefcase and get all again. Then close both and head for the briefing room. When finished, take notes and go over and look in your pigeon hole. Read the note on gambling and exit room. Go to the keyboard and get the patrol car keys, then go and get the radio extender. Leave the station and head for your patrol car. Walk around it as usual going close to the wheels. Then get in and drive until you receive a message from dispatch, follow the stolen car and get it to pull over. Call for backup (stay in the car!), when it comes you can open the door and get out of the car (but stay behind the door for a shield). Draw gun (not with a pen) and load it. Tell the guy to get out of the car with his hands up. Then tell him to 'hit the dirt'. When he has done this, go over to him, put gun in holster, handcuff the suspect and ask him to stand up. Search him, read him his rights, then tell him to get into the patrol car. As before, follow him to the back door, open it and then close it behind him. When Jack comes near you look at the gun and read the serial number. Now go over to the suspect's car, look at the door, search the car and open the glove box. Examine contents and then put them back. Head to the back of the car, open the boot and examine the dope that's in there. Go back to your car and go to the jail as before. Park in the lot, get out of car, open back door, wait for the suspect to get out and go to the steps to the jail door. Go over to the gun lockers on the left, open the gun locker, put your gun in the gun locker, and lock it up. Now go and push the button, enter and tell the jailer to book the rotter for drugs. Remove the handcuffs and take him to his cell. Exit and return to the gun locker, get your gun and lock up the locker again. Return to patrol car and go back to the station. Park car, exit and enter station. Head for Dooley's office, when Dooley leaves, go behind his desk, face the desk and read the memo. Leave and go to the locker room. Change clothes, get gun and ammo, go to keyboard and return patrol car keys. Go to Morgan's office (next to the parking lot) for briefing, enter office next to it for Laura's briefing. When she leaves, go over to the wall on your left, get the clipboard, turn the pages. When you see the FBI Most Wanted list, return clipboard, take the keys and go over to the file cabinet. Open the drawer, read the Hoffman file, now keep it. Exit and head for the unmarked car. Walk around it, close to each wheel and get in. Drive to the courthouse (found at map point sector D3). Once there part the car and enter courthouse. Walk to the clerk's window and when he talks to you say you need to see the judge. Then say you need no bail warrant, and then say this is an emergency. When he comes back to the open door, enter, wait for the judge's prompt. Say Marvin Hoffman, then say Hoffman file (for evidence). Now say FBI Most Wanted poster and finally say the tattoo, you'll get the no bail warrant. Exit and get back into car and head straight for the jail. Park the car, get out and head for gun locker (you must know what to do here by now...). Once inside the jail give the jailer the no bail warrant. Exit, get your gun, return to car and drive to the station. Pick up Laura from the station and drive to the park. Get out of the car and enter park. Walk over to the picnic table, hide behind bush, draw and load gun. Radio Laura and wait. When the two guys start fighting, radio Laura and stay behind the bush. Say HALT POLICE. One will run, but go over to the other one and put your gun in the holster. Cuff the man, read his rights and then search him. Look at the ID card and then the dope. Question Simms twice (no, don't start talking into the back of your STE...) and then tell him to follow you. Head back to the car and question Colby twice. Open the back door and tell them both to get in. Now drive to the jail. Do all the usual stuff and once you're in the jail tell the jailer to book 'em for drugs. Remove the handcuffs and lead them to their cell. Exit the jail and get your gun. Enter the car and return to the station to drop off Laura. Listen to what she says and drive to the Blue Room. Park the car and enter the Blue Room. Go over to Jack and sit down. Talk to him and when he leaves Steve will come over and also chat to you. Once he leaves you can too, so exit and drive to the station. Park the car and enter station. Go to Morgan's office and over to his desk for another briefing (long day eh?!). The go over to the hallway's end where the evidence window is. Russ will talk to you, say 'May I see the black book, please?'. Look at black book and return it. Then ask to examine the weapon, read the tag, note down the serial number and then return the weapon. Now walk over to the computer room. Go over to the (THE?!) computer, turn it on and enter SW9764912. You will now find Taber's phone number and name. Note this down and turn off the computer. Go back to the narcotics office, use the telephone and dial the number 1-312-555-3382. Ask Taber for information on Taselli, then go to Morgan's office again for the next briefing and when it's finished walk to your unmarked car, (do the thing with the wheels) and drive to the jail. Do all the stuff to get into the jail and wait for Sweet Cheeks Marie to finish speaking and then ask her to help with the hotel operation. Exit the jail, get gun and drive to Cotton Cove. Park the car and go to the dead body. Radio dispatch about what you have found, get back in car and return, yet again, to the station. Who'd be a copper?! Park the car, get out and walk to Morgan's office for yep, you guessed it, yet another, ANOTHER!!!, briefing. Next use the phone in the narcotics office and dial 411 to find Cobb's phone number. Then dial it (555-2622). Dial 411 again to find William's phone number. Dial 555-4522 and say Sonny Bonds, then say Hoffman. Now walk to the locker room and change into your towel. Close locker, move right to shower, turn on shower, use bleach, wet hair and rinse hair. Turn the shower off, go back to locker, open the locker, change clothes, and close the locker. Go into Morgan's office for the last briefing (yippee!) and when it is finished look at the phone and note down Morgan's number. Return to your car, check it and drive to Hotel Delphoria and park car. Get out, enter, walk to counter and ring bell. Rent a room and walk to the left doorway and enter the cocktail lounge. Head to the bar and ask for a beer. Go over to where Sweet Cheeks is, sit down and pay the bartender when the drinks arrive. When Sweet Cheeks exits and returns, get up, go over to the bar, give the bartender money and go to the elevator in the lobby. Push two and when it stops get out and walk down to your right until you find room 204. Then unlock door, enter, say yes twice then go over to the nightstand at the rear, use the telephone, dial 555- 6674, say Sonny Bonds. Next use the phone to dial 411 and find Lytton Cab Company's phone number. Dial the cab company on 555- 9222 and say Hotel Delphoria, Sweet Cheeks will now depart and take the cab. Next head downstairs to the cocktail lounge. Go over to the bar, give the bartender two hundred dollars and follow Woody to the back room (after being searched) go to the empty chair in the card room. Sit down and keep playing poker until you have five hundred dollars. Then leave, go back to lobby and return to your room. Wait and when your backup arrives go over to the one on the left and say 'give me the transmitter pen' and head downstairs again to the cocktail lounge. At the bar, tell Woody Frank sent you. Follow him, go over to the empty chair and sit down. Play poker and keep playing until Frank asks you some questions. Say yes twice and then follow him up to his room. As soon as he goes in, radio backup, and then enter his room. Now sit back and say you'll be happy to say that you will never join the police! BMK BMK
