BMK BMK The Bitmap Kid Presents... ----------------------------- Police Quest II - The Solution --------------------------------- Okay, here's yet another game solution for SynTax's archive and your pleasure. These Police Quest solutions have just been hanging around here for sooooo long.... Anyway - on with the show! Start by looking at the car and getting the keys. Open the glove box and look inside. Take the card, turn it over and get the combination to the locker. Exit the car, look at the coat and read the message about the money clip. Go over to the police door, unlock it and enter. Go to the homicide office and walk in. Go over to Hall's desk and look at it to read messages about files and paper, you can do this at any time in the game you want. Next look at the paper to see the computer passwords. Go to the wall at the rear and look at it. Get the key for the unmarked car and look at the bulletin board for the message about shooting scores. Go to desk and sit down. Look at the basket to read the message referring to the subpoena. Now unlock the desk drawer to find a wallet, take and look at it. Search it to find a driver's card. Get the letter and read it. Once you've done that close the drawer and leave the office. Enter the locker room (just right of the homicide office) and go to the first locker on the left wall. Open it (use combination 36-4-12) and then get ammo, hand cuffs and gun. Close the locker and load your gun. Exit the locker room and go to the side counter and face it. Look at it, unlock the bin and see the message on field kits. Close the bin, go over to the right hand side of the screen and practice at the shooting range. Go up to the counter and talk to Mills. Now get your ear protectors, go over to the sliding glass door, enter the booth section and go to one that's open. Look at it, put ear protectors on, raise gun, take aim and fire gun. Shoot a couple of times and lower your gun. Push view and look at the target. Adjust the sights and when they are properly adjusted a message comes up. Now replace target, push back, raise gun, fire and fire again. After seven shots you will need to reload. You will have enough ammo for one reload, but if you need more go see the weapons officer. When you've had enough, exit booth, exit sliding door, go up to the counter and get more ammo. Return the ear protectors and leave shooting range. Return to homicide and the captain tells you of Jessie Bains' escape. You're asked to get a mug shot and follow up the case. So walk over to the filing cabinet and open it, type Bains, take mug shot and close file. Now close the cabinet and leave the office. Enter the narc office which is to the left of homicide and speak to the man on the left. Type talk man... ...help man... ...talk man. Once you've done that leave and exit the hallway heading for the parking lot. Go over to the first unmarked car on the left and stand near the back. Open the boot and put the kit in there. Close it and go over to the driver's side and open the door. Drive to the jail and once there put your gun in the gun lockers and then lock it in. Go over to the door and push the button, then open the door and show your ID. Go over to the booking counter and describe Pate's car. Ask for file then request Bains, get a later mug shot of him and close the file. Now do the same for Pate's file, ask for the file, enter 'Pate'. Turn the page and write down the info about the jailer's gun. Close the file, see witness and go over to the visitor's screen to talk to the witness. Leave, go back to the lockers, get your gun and go back to the car. Type 'drive to station' and on the way you will get a message to go to the mall. So now type 'drive to mall' Once there, go to the back of the car, open the boot and get field kit. Head towards the jailer's car lower right and open the passenger side door. Dust the glove box, use tape and open the glove box. Take the bullets and holster, close the glove box and then close the car door. Haines brings a women to you - ask her about the car. Go back to your own car and put the kit back in there, closing the boot afterwards. Get back into your car and ask radio dispatch for info on jailer's gun and the stolen car. Now drive to the station (type it in) and on the way you will be asked to go to Cotton Cove. Drive there (errm, type it in of course) and when you get a message from your partner about a bet, select 'you're on' when it is highlighted by pressing return. Once there go over and question the jogger. Then walk left, draw your gun and keep walking, when you see Bains fire the gun, now keep moving left, then move quickly up the screen or you'll be run over by a car! Bains goes off in the stolen car. Go back to your car and enter it, radio dispatch and read the messages. Exit the car, go to the back of it and get your field kit. Walk to the left until you see the bin. Look through the bin, take the clothes and look at the name tag. Now walk over to the edge of the water. Look down and take a sample of the blood. Get the footprint and take a picture of the scene. Once all this is done return to your car. When you see the diver go over and type in 'dive in river'. When you're asked for a card, search your wallet. The diver should now change clothes. Go towards the van and face the sliding door. Get the belt, fins, mask, vest and wet suit. Now get tank 1, check the air in the tank and if it's low try 2 and 3 instead. Exit the van and you will be taken to the water. Swim to the far left screen and when you get to the middle look down. Take the knife and swim right to the next screen and in the middle look down again. Get the object (a badge) and look at it. Swim right to the next screen again and again in the middle look down. You will see a rock, move it to reveal a hand and look at it. Type 'move body' and you will leave the water. Now keep going right until Sonny changes his clothes. Go back to the car and Gelespi will be there. Go to the back of the car and put the kit in the back, then close the boot. Now go to the driver's door, open it, and allow Gelespi to get in. Use the radio and read the messages about the coroner. Use the radio again and drive back to the station. On the way you will be asked to drive to the airport (not gonna have ANY peace today, are we?!) so drive there instead. When you get there go to the back of the car and get your kit. Go over to the car two places from you (the black one) and stand in front of it. Look at the licence plate and you'll find the car is stolen. Walk to the passenger's door and open it. Dust the rear view mirror (yes, the little one in the middle!) and then use the tape. That's the only clue in the car so exit and close the door. Return to your own car and put away your kit. Enter the car and your pal gets in. Radio dispatch with the licence plate. Exit the car yet again and go to the top of the screen in front of the airport. To the left of the crossing you will see a pole. Push the button and then walk across the crossing. A girl selling flowers will come up to you, buy a rose from her and walk into the airport building. When you see the woman behind the ticket counter show her your ID and then the mug shot. Have a look at the passenger list and go over to the car rental area, this is up to the left of here. When you see the person behind the rental counter, show them your ID and mug shot again, then have a look at the rental list. Go back to the ticket counter area and head for the loos. Go towards the centre cubicle and type in 'enter stall'. Next look at the toilet and remove the lid. Look in the tank and remove the gun, leave the stall and then go and use the hand drier. Turn it on, dry the gun and then leave the loos. Exit the airport and cross the road (in the same way you did before). Return to your car and get in, radio HQ to let them know what you've found out, first radio rental car and then radio gun. Now drive to the station and when you get there (at last!) go to the booking counter and to let them know what you've found type in 'book evidence'. Next go over to homicide and find the computer. Look at it and turn it on. Enter DIR and then cd. Now enter vice and then Miami. Enter DIR again, highlight Wilkans and hit enter. Make a note of the copy address and enter cd again. Enter personal and then pistachio and then dir. Highlight Pratt and hit return again. You will see that internal affairs has a drug file on Pratt because of drugs. Enter exit, exit homicide and go over to narcotics. When you see the front desk on the left ask the man for help. Talk to the man and then leave, return to your own desk and sit down. Look at basket and then use the phone. Enter 411 and then Lytton. Now enter Marie Wilkans followed by the number, enter 555-4169, enter hello and then enter OK. When the call has finished get up and leave the station. Go over to your private car (not the unmarked police one) and get in. Drive to the restaurant and go inside. Walk to Marie Wilkans when the waiter says find a seat. At the table sit down and talk to her. When the waiter comes over place an order for meatloaf.... BMK bursts into song: Did someone say Meatloaf? Errrm, "Maybe we can talk all night, but that will never change the way that I feel. The snow is packing up outside I wish you wouldn't make it easy. I put......" QUIET!!!! Oh, sorry. Now where was I? I was getting carried away there... Oh yea, I was just getting to the good bit... ...and give the rose to Marie, and kiss her... "she kept on telling me 'I love you' 'I need you' 'but there....' oh sorry..." ...look at her and kiss her again "...I love you, I need you... SORRY...". When the food arrives eat it (well it's not wise to throw it around the room is it?!) and then enter bring bill (who's Bill?? He's not this girl's bloke, is he...?). Once that's been paid for you will be transported back to the parking area of the station. "Heaven can wait...." Sorry. Get the keys and exit. Enter the station and go over to Captain's desk, you will see some messages about a murder victim. Go over to the keyboard (and start playing Jingle Bells?) and get the key for your unmarked car. Enter the car and drive to the warehouse. At the scene of the murder get your kit and go over to the back of the murder victim's car. Look in the trunk and get the blood. Dust the trunk and then take pictures. Look at the trunk again. Now look at face, then hand, and then get the corner of envelope. Read it and wait until the coroner arrives. Then remove the body and when it has gone have another look in the trunk. Search it and you'll find a piece of paper. Get it and then close the trunk. Return to your car and put the kit away, now drive to the motel. On arrival go to the manager's window and talk to the man. Show him your ID and then the mug shot. Return to the car, get in and radio warrant and then radio backup. A police officer will walk into scene, go over to him and get the warrant. Return to the manager's office and show the warrant. Get the key from him and walk to the right side of the motel door, also stand on this side because when you use the key it sets off an explosion, alerting the Swat team who will now spring into action. When the tear gas has stopped, go back to your car and get the kit. Enter the motel room, explore fully because there are loads of clues here. Go into the restroom and look around. Look in the sink, get the card and take a look at it. Over by the nightstand open the drawer to find an envelope, take and look at it and then read the letter. Near to the corner of the bed look at the floor. Get sample and then go to the rear of the bed and look underneath it. Get the tube and leave. Return to your car and put away your kit. Get in the car and drive to Marie's. When you get there go up to the front door, you'll see a note. Get the note and read it. There is something strange about the writing so have a look at it. Now open the door. Inside look at the sofa, you will see something on the floor so have a look at this as well. Look at the ashtray, it has something in it. Take the paper with the hit list on it and go back to your car. Get in and drive to the station. Once there unlock the door, go up to the booking counter and talk to the man, book the evidence you've found at Marie's. Open the door to the right of the booking counter. Go to Jim Simpson's desk (the first one) and talk to him. Talk to him about the prints and the shotgun. Leave and go back to your office. At your desk sit down and use the phone. Type 411, Steelton, Police, (407)555-2677. Type in 'talk man' twice and then ring (407)555- 3323. Talk to man again and enter 'warn Colby'. To finish the phone call press the Esc key. Before you leave look at the message basket. Now go over to the shooting range, and as earlier you must sight your gun (just repeat what you did before). When you've done that exit the station, load your gun and get in your car. Drive to the airport. When you get there go to the back of your car and get your kit, then head for the crossing. Press the button as before and go inside the airport. Go to the ticket desk and ask for a ticket to Steelton, at this point Keith will need to telephone for you to do this. Type buy ticket to Steelton and then go over to the top left part of the screen. When you see the lift go up in it. At the top when you approach the metal detector show your ID card and then get on the plane. Move to the front seat and sit next to Keith. When you've done that fasten your seatbelt and once the plane is in the air remove it. You'll be offered drinks by the stewardess, order coffee (I'll have a 'froffy coffee'!). You'll then be alerted that a hijack is in progress. As soon as the stewardess gets free from the hijackers and falls on the floor quickly stand up, draw gun and then fire gun. You should have shot the first hijacker, as he falls another one will come through the cockpit door. Again enter fire gun and he should fall too. Go over to the hijacker who is masked and search him. In his pockets you should find some wire cutters. Now go over to the other baddie and search him too. You'll find in his turban some instructions for defusing the bomb. Head to the back of the plane, go into the toilet, look at the dispenser and then open it. Then cut the wires in this order. First cut the yellow wire, then the blue and purple. Connect the yellow wire, then cut the white wire, then the yellow wire. Close the dispenser and return to your seat. When you land Keith and yourself will be flown to Steelton's police department by chopper. Walk to the Lieutenant's office and you'll be given some messages. Go over to the table, look at it and get the radio. Leave the office and keep walking left. In Steelton Park walk to the top of the screen. When you see the mugger quickly use radio, Keith will then nab the mugger and put him in cuffs. Go over to the mugger and read him his rights, then question him. From here go right and keep going until you are to the right of the small hill. Look down and then open cover. Look at sewer and climb down the ladder. Once inside walk right, then right again. Walk down screen but keep on the left hand side. When you find it hard to breath (a message will appear) just keep going. Now turn and walk left, you must be on the top part of the sewer, you should see a cabinet. Open it and get the gas mask, put it on (enter 'wear gas mask'). Go to the right, then turn and walk down the screen, along the way look out for the open manhole. Turn the corner to the left and stop, but again make sure you're on the top part of the sewer. Keep going left until you come to the control room, go inside and walk over to Marie. Enter keep quiet, then untie her. Now draw your gun and make sure it is loaded. On the left is a big pipe, hide behind this and wait. Shortly Bains will enter, fire the gun ('FIRE GUN'). You must get him twice to kill him, to avoid the shots keep ducking behind the pipe. When you manage to kill the scum, you'll find you have finally won the game. Phewey! "Oh like a bat out 'a hell I'll be gone..." Argh! BMK BMK
