Dungeons of Avalon 1 Taken from a phonecall from Andy Stenhouse Andy rang me about this German RPG which is in the SynTax Disk Library and if you're having problems running it, you may find this info very useful. The disk has to be kept write-enabled so Andy immediately made a back-up. It loaded fine, the intro screen came up, he pressed the left mouse button to get to Workbench and clicked the icon to run the game. The game saves to the game disk, which was also okay. The problem came when he tried to load it a second time. It just wouldn't boot up properly; the icons didn't appear. So Andy loaded Workbench, swapped the Workbench disk and game disk, pressed Control and the two Amiga keys on the keyboard to boot it again. This time he got the intro screen and everything worked fine. Andy said it looks as though when you save a game it erases the normal program that brings up the icons of Workbench. There are no such problems with Dungeons of Avalon 2. Andy also mentioned that there are three saved parties on the DOA1 disk, one of which has 7th level characters. Of course they are quite a way through the game so if you used those you'd miss the early stages. He said it's a good game, very similar to Eye of the Beholder. - o -
