Nirvana - SynTax disk PD 174 Author - Wimsey Games Solution by Bev Truter on PC You can "go left", "go right" and "go ahead" in Nirvana, but I preferred to use the conventional NSE and W. The opening location is in a Cottage. You have a brown sack (closed) and can hear meowing from outside the closed window. There is a bottle on the table and a closed oak door S, or behind you. Get bottle, X bottle (closed with a brown cork). Get cork, open sack (you see a brown crust). When Mrs. Hubbard appears, talk to her about Nirvana to find out more about your quest. When there's a knock on the door the meowing stops, and she suggests you open the window. Open window, then wait until she unlocks and opens the oak door for you. Go S to the Garden, where you can talk to her son Ben who has been changed to an old man by the wicked Nirvana. When a rabbit appears get rabbit, put rabbit in sack, close sack. Go S to a Path, and W to the End of Path if you want to have a look at the old bridge, waterfall and gorge. Then E, E to the Path up bald Mt. where you see an Alpenhorn. Don't blow it yet. N to the palace, where you can admire Nirvana's handiwork on the surrounding fence. Open opal gate, N to the Garden, open oak door, N to the Great Hall. You can't open the teak door to your left yet, as it's locked from the other side. Open the cork door to the E, where Nirvana's two Hounds confront you. Open sack, get rabbit (it jumps out of your grasp and disappears) and the hounds will chase after it. N to the Landing, open maple door to the E, go E to the Balcony which overlooks Nirvana's Spa. You see a pool and a pagoda, X the pool and note it's geometrical shape and size. W, S to Great Hall, E to Nirvana's Spa. There are 2 planks here, one ebony and one pine, both 14' long. X pool and you see a corner. Drop all, get ebony plank, put ebony plank across corner. Get pine plank, go ebony plank, put pine plank between island and ebony plank. You will need a key before crossing to the Island. So get all, W, N, open pine door, W to Nirvana's Parlour. Listen to the Macaw until it reveals where a jade key is hidden, and wait until Nirvana opens a window before going E, S, S, S, S to the Alpenhorn. Blow horn then wait until the avalanche carries you to the foot of the mountain on a Narrow Ledge. Go N to The Hall of the Mountain King, and talk to him to discover more about Nirvana. He gives you magic spectacles and a jar full of glow-worms ("take" both items when he offers them to you). You will have to wait until he tells you about the ear and allows you to move E to an Enormous Ear. Speak to the ear, it tells you to come in, enter ear (or go E) to the Ear Canal. you see a Boat on the shore of an Underground Lake, X boat (you see a bunghole), put cork in bunghole, launch boat, enter boat, get oar. You are floating on the Lake, and all directions except S take you around in a circle. Go S to Stream which flows past the Garden, E, N to Cottage. From inside the Cottage you hear the meowing again, so open window to be magically transported to Nirvana's Bedroom (W of the Great Hall). The cat transforms itself into Nirvana, but she can't harm you as you have the magic spectacles. Open box, get key, open teak door, E, E to Spa. Go ebony plank or E to cross to the Island, then E to enter Pagoda. You see a glass dome, X dome (it's locked and contains a crytal bell). Unlock dome, open dome. (You hear a grate somewhere being opened, which releases piranha into the swimming-pool - just as well you used the planks and didn't try to swim!) Get bell, W, W (or go pine plank), W to Great Hall, where Nirvana and her Hounds are descending the stairs. Ring bell, Nirvana shatters apart and disappears, and you have completed the game! I re-did this game several times, but always ended with a score of 93/100 - haven't a clue where the missing 7% is. - o -
