Captive (ST) - The best œ6.99 I ever spent. I told myself I would stop playing Captive if I ever completed the first mission - I lied. 2. Dungeon Master (ST) - So much depth it'll give you vertigo. 3. Syndicate (Am) - There must be a dozen psychology theses lurking in the gameplay of this game. To paraphrase Roy, "I've done some questionable things". Even by Bullfrog standards this is a brilliant, believable alternative reality. 4. Eye Of The Beholder 2 (Am) - This is a fantastic game, but then after all SSI's efforts I suppose they eventually had to come up with an AD&D game that felt like AD&D. 5. Heimdall (ST) - great cartoon style visuals. It's also got the rarity of a coherent plot! I even grew to like the idiosyncratic combat system. 6. Frontier : Elite 2 (Am/ST) - the great thing about this game is the open ended nature which really makes it play like a true role-playing game. 7. Shadowlands (ST) - more atmosphere than a sock basket thanks to the superb presentation. It's also the only game I've come across in which characters can be satisfactorily controlled as individuals. 8. The Immortal (ST) - a very tough game with unforgiving controls; fiendish puzzles and entertaining action. Failure was never so well animated. 9. Eye Of The Beholder (Am) - this game would be higher in my list if it wasn't for the fatal bugs it contains. 10. Liberation : Captive 2 (Am) - I've only been playing this one for a week, but I like it. I'm sure it will be up there with its progenitor in a year's time. ------------------------------------------------------------------ John Moore's Top Ten -------------------- John said in his letter, "I complained about the age of other people's Top Ten games and never sent mine." 1. Sam and Max (I'm weird too) 2. Day of the Tentacle (Ditto) 3. Beneath a Steel Sky 4. Lords of Time, Level 9 5. Mountains of Ket (The first adventure I ever did) 6. Gabriel Knight 7.
