                    Hints from Mongoose

During the first three chapters of this game, build up your
players as much as possible.
1. by reading books.....keep an eye on food levels doing this.
2. pay for tuition or help people with small quests.
3.  barding and lockpick skills can be increased by playing
practice instruments, and using lockpicks respectively.
4. some pieces of clothing or jewellery also put up skill levels.

Some general hints are:
always check food before taking it from anywhere other than a shop
e.g. dead bodies, holes, or chests:
if you are not starving or poisoned you can use traps to rest,
this will build up your players' stats, without sleeping:
if your spellcaster casts dragon skin on another player, he can
then walk through traps disabling them, this spell will protect
from the dangers of the trap:
also if an enemy is also on the trap screen, the spell,
invitation, can be used to make him walk into the trap, thus
killing him easily.
As a final resort in the trap screen push "g" and see where the
lines of the traps are.
