News Legend will evidently be responsible for the development of Star Control III from Accolade. As well as some other games mentioned last issue, they are also working on another fantasy adventure based on a famous author - but no names have been released yet. What has been released is the info that the game will be co-developed by Lori and Cory Cole (designers of Sierra's Quest for Glory series). Viacom New Media are now going to be releasing the game Star Trek:Deep Space Nine which was originally due from Paramount Interactive. Two other packages coming from them are a futuristic adventure called Club Dead and Are You Afraid of the Dark?:The Tale of Orpheo's Curse. Sierra have Space Quest 6 : The Spinal Frontier on its way, which parodies as many TV shows, films and videos as it can. It will be CD only. The next Police Quest game will be Police Quest : SWAT, also co-designed by Darryl Gates, and featuring 4 scenarios with 4 different character perspectives. ArtDink are developing a follow-up to A-Train called A-IV which will be released on both CD and floppy, the CD having twice as many scenarios (20 as opposed to 10) and FMV clips. As well as the transportation side, it will feature business management themes such as stocks and shares. Journeyman Project 2 is subtitled Buried in Time. Once again you are a Temporal Security Agent, sorting out alterations in history caused by a person or persons unknown. Once again it will CD only but both the graphics and playability will be much improved, apparently. Sanctuary Woods, who are aiding Presto Studios in the release of Journeyman Project 2, are also bringing out The Riddle of Master Lu, a graphic adventure based on the American series called Ripley's Believe it or Not!. As Robert Ripley, you will follow Master Lu's trail through a wide range of places such as the Sahara, New York and Easter Island, trying to unravel a series of riddles set by him when he designed a tomb for a Chinese Emperor. The Tomb contains a seal which could save the world from destruction. The writer and designer of the game also produced several episodes of Star Trek:TNG. Described as "the all-video, interactive techno / thriller", Tsunami Media / Time Warner's Flash Traffic: City of Angels is filmed entirely on location and, as you'd expect, set in Los Angeles. You play a special agent with the FBI who must foil a terrorists' plot to blow up the city. It will be CD-ROM only. Now, some confusion ... Vic Tokai Inc / Millennium Interactive are bringing out a game called Deadline. Unlike the Infocom game of the same name, it is an isometric 3D graphic adventure. In the game, you lead a group of anti-terrorist personnel who must rescue some hostages before time runs out. Horror fans will be disappointed to hear that Phantasmagoria's release date has slipped to 10th August and Harvester to 31st May. Hunters of Ralk, the AD&D RPG developed by Gary Gygax, won't be out until autumn. Domark are releasing a futuristic SVGA graphic adventure called The Orion Conspiracy which is set in a research station built on an asteroid in deep space. The themes covered are fairly heavy - murder, racism, sexism and homophobia, not to forget the murder which sets the whole scene. I like the sound of Baldies from Gametek, which sounds like a Lemmings variation but whose screenshots are slightly reminiscent of Settlers. You have to guide the follically-challenged little guys through 100 levels against up to 6 computer opponents.
