George's Hints and Tips

Shadowgate

To climb the rope - say "epor" (rope backwards) in the Epor Room
and the rope will unwind.

Can't find the keys? - one is inside the book on the shelf in the
room where the floor gives way if you take anything. Open the book
without removing it from the shelf. Another can be found by
setting fire to the carpet in the Banquet Hall.

What about the trapdoor in the pedestal room? - you need the white
gem from the bag behind the rock in the alcove near the 
waterfall.


Chronoquest

To find the time machine - replace the sphere on the banisters.
Enter the underground stairs by going NE from the hall and up. Get
the candle from beside the picture in the chapel. Return down the
stairs to the room with a switch.  Open the switch, return
upstairs and remove the sphere again, then return to the switch
room and go up. There you will find the time machine.

Jinxter

What to do in the pub - put out the fire with the walrus charm and
get the ash.  Buy some Moosebolter beer if you can afford it. If
you want the glass, put it in the case and close it before you
leave the pub.

Oil a problem? - freeze the contents of the plastic bottle.

To bake a loaf - sieve the flour, get the charm, put it in with
the dough and overbake it in the oven by pressing the button twice.

The Uninvited

Looking for a key? - cut a chair with a knife.

Dogs a problem? - use a spell to cause thunder and lightning ...
Instantum Illuminus Abraxis.

Maze a problem? - put some flowers on a grave you find there.

Can't get a key from the small creature? - get a cookie from the
cookie jar and leave it on the floor. The beast will leave the key
in exchange.

What to do with the plant? - perhaps someone is hungry.

Mortville Manor

What's the wooden rod for? - put it in the wooden ball on the top
of the cupboard.

Can't enter the secret passage in the cellar? - get the knife from
Bob's room and put it in the diamond shaped opening.

Can't pass the disused trap? - place the ring from Guy's room in
the bowl and turn it.

What is the wall of silence? - the coat of arms.

What to do in the secret chamber - search the body and use the
item you find in the attic.

Lancelot

To deal with Garlon the invisible - close the shutter.

To save Lamorak - hide in the gorse bush, tell a knight to light
the beacon, wait for a sentry to pass, enter the Broch and go
down. Get Lamorak from the cell, get a knight to wait, push chest,
escape through the trapdoor.

To rescue the Red Knight - fight but don't kill the Green and
Black Knights.  Blow the horn to scare off the besieging army.

Enchanter

Stuck with the dragon after the stairway illusion? - make friends
with it or throw water at it, or use the Gondor spell on it. You
find the scroll in the library - reach into the rat hole in the
wall.
