Shadow of Yserbius - The Green Gem

@~Bill had written because, like so many of us, he was having
@~problems getting hold of the green gem. I told him what I'd been
@~told to do and he got it to work. I thought his letter might be
@~of use to some more of you who are stuck in it.

I know you did not get the message from the tree but I think this
could be something else. When I did as you suggested and started
from the robe and went on up to the tree I got the message "Defeat
my enemies the four winds S-N-E-W and you will find a precious gem
as green as my foliage." I then went back to the wind room and
entered the most southerly room. I then noticed that this was the
North Wind. I said "Oops" and after defeating it, I went to the
top facing room which was the South Wind. I then did it in the
order the tree asked and went into the room for the gem. I got
another mana potion!

I backtracked and went through the Wind Knight's door only to find
the secret door still open. I jumped down a pit to kill myself and
made my way back and the door was still open. I was getting plenty
of potions. I knew I was on the right track as there is another
message nearby which says "A small tempest swirls. It whispers
that one's treasure comes from the direction of the winds".  I
switched off the computer and reloaded and went in through the top
entrance of the volcano. This time I found the secret door shut.
On doing the sequence S-N-E-W I managed to get the green gem.
