Alone In The Dark 3 - Infogrames (Part 1) Solution by Phil Darke Alone in the Dark 3 is the latest in the series and is set in a Western ghost town. It is more difficult than the previous two games but unlike the other two games you are able to set the difficulty level. If, like me you are not too quick on the draw then select the beginner level. Run across the bridge and, after watching the duel, go onto the veranda outside the saloon and pick up the gas can. Enter the saloon and use the gas can on the generator on the table and watch the film clip. Pick up the key from the table and the maraca from the stage and the oil can from the corner of the room. Go to the end of the bar and enter the room to the left and pick up the matches. Run along behind the bar, avoiding the bullets from the guy above you. Pick up the bottle, flask and wood alcohol from behind the bar. Now walk to the moose head and pull the left horn. As soon as you do this a trap door opens at the other end of the bar and a zombie appears with two guns, shooting at you. As quickly as you can after pulling the horn get close to the wall behind the moose head and his bullets will hit this and protect you. He soon runs out of ammo and when he does fight him and you will find him very easy to kill. Pick up the card and golden bullet which he drops. Enter the trap door. Pick up the lamp and use the oil can and the matches on it, use the lamp and run to the other end of the room, pick up the cane and examine the poster to get a message from Lefty. Open the nearest barrel and use the maraca to get the snakes out of the barrel. Save your game then enter the barrel and when you emerge in the cell quickly take the stone from the bench. Run to the door and use the cane to get the keys. Open the cell door and go into the passage. Go to Lefty's cell and drop the wood alcohol. When he dies take the flask. Throw the stone and pick up the amulet. Go to the passage with the pentacle on the floor and down to the sheriff's office. Use the key on the gun cabinet and take the Winchester. Examine the posters and search the desk for a sheriff's badge and some bullets for the Winchester. Go to the room opposite and open the fireplace. When the zombie drops down the chimney, shoot him with the 38 special. Now go to the room with double doors and push the closet in front of them to stop the zombie. Search the closet and take the shotgun. Go up the rope ladder and take the whip. Go around the corner to where there is a floating block. Save your game and then run under the block avoiding the red light and get the noose. Now go to the left and pick up the cast iron plate and the ammo belt. The guy in the corner is Burris, remember what the poster said about him. Use the cast iron plate, this will protect you from his shots go and stand in front of him and use the golden bullet to load the Winchester. Now shoot Burris with the Winchester and pick up the bag of scorpions. Walk on down past the barrel and pick up the gattling gun, flask and short fuse. Return to where you picked up the cast iron plate and use the Winchester to shoot the lock. Enter and use the matches to light the lamp. Use the noose and drop the bag of scorpions down the trap door and push the lever to close the trap door. Pick up the dynamite and dried meat. Return to the barrel, killing two zombies on the way. The door closes behind you and someone tries to shoot you through it. Use the short fuse on the dynamite and place it in the crack in the wall next to the barrel. Use the matches to light the fuse and take cover. Go through the hole in the wall and step on the plate with the arrow to open the door. Carry on walking until you meet another zombie, after you have killed him keep walking until you come to another locked door. Turn left and go to the mechanism which has a cog missing. Use the sheriff's badge and then use the whip on the lever. Return to the door which is now open. Go through the door and pick up the flask and the bullets which are on the plank. Go back into the room and run across the plank which will act as a springboard and catapult you through the window. Light the two lamps and enter the room. Use the piece of dried meat on the clock, you will get a token and the Arizona Kid will disappear through the painting. Pick up the newspaper flask and night valet before following him. Search the bed to find an arrow, use this on the cupid on the bedpost. Search the dressing table to find a 30/30 bullet, a pearl and a bulb. Now go back through the painting. On the landing pick up the ring and use it to get a diamond and a ring. @~More next issue - o -
