Alone In The Dark 3 - Infogrames (Part 2) Solution by Phil Darke @~Continued from Issue 39 Use the key to open the door. Enter and pick up the diary, flask and instruction sheet. Use the diamond on the dragon statue to get some more ammo for the winchester. Go onto the balcony and drop the night valet in front of the open window. When the zombie comes out and falls to his death push the open shutter to allow you to enter the dark room. Look at the photo on the wall and pick up the shutter release, flash, instruction leaflet, key and flask. Now return to the broken window and use the key to open the door. Before entering the room use the bulb and the shutter release. Enter the room and use the flash on the reel of film to get rid of the zombie. Use the token on the piano and then shoot the target opposite. This will open when hit to reveal a war stick and a flask. The block will move to reveal a hole in the floor. Jump down the hole and use the oil can and matches to light the lamp. Go into the next room and jump from one block to the next, saving your game after each successful jump. When you reach the shaman show him the war stick. He will then stand back to allow you to jump on to the ledge. Pick up the cartridges and the key. Now jump onto the next block and continue until you can go no further. Use the amulet and you will be transported into the mansion. Kill the two zombies and pick up the top hat, key and flask that they leave behind. Go to the other end of the passage and open the double doors with the key. This is the library. In here you will find three books, one of which is locked and can be opened with the small key. Examine the bust and take the pocket watch. Pick up the printing plate and use it in front of the mirror to read it. Now go back to the passage and along to the doors at the other end. Here you will find a cask of silver nitrate which you will need later. Use the watch to unlock the doors and enter, here you will meet Morrisson who gives you a message. A zombie appears from behind the curtains and kills Morrisson. Kill the zombie. Use the top hat on the bust to get some cartridges. Now shoot the window and go up the steps and through the window into the graveyard. Use the war stick on the circular stone in the middle. Now look for the grave with O.E.J. and use the Ace Of Diamonds on it. A stone rises out of the grave and carries you up to the window of the kitchen. Enter the kitchen and take the oil can from the table and the roll of film and the bag of pemmican from the sideboard. Now look at the spit in the fire place. It is stiff and will not turn, so use the oil can on it. The wall behind the fire place moves allowing you to enter the ballroom. Run up to the gramophone and find a guitar string a musical score and a safe key. Now search the two statues for some more cartridges and a hammer. Run back to the kitchen and go behind the sideboard to a locked door. Use the 30/30 bullet in the lock and then use the hammer. Enter the room and search the model of the station to find a blasting cap, a light bulb and a map. Go into the next room where you find a broken mounting table. Use the guitar string and light bulb to fix it. Now use the roll of film and then the musical score to reveal the safe combination, 806. Go next door to the bank, but don't try to go behind the counter yet or you get shot. Take the book from the table and read it. Now examine the picture and keep examining it until 806 appears at the bottom of the screen. It is now safe to go behind the counter. Go to the safe and use the pearl and then the safe key. When you open the door a zombie runs out and steals your amulet. Run after him and kill him to get it back. Now go back to the safe and take Hill Century's money, but don't try to open it as it is booby trapped. Take the cartridges and exit through the window. Here you will meet McCarthy who gives you a message. Take the flask from the saddle in the corner and search the mine cart to find a detonator. Climb into the cart and ride it down to the station. Quickly run through the open doors into the station and up to the STATION sign, push it and the paint spoils it and the station master drops a key. Pick up the key and search the pile of rails to find an eye bolt. Go to the bell in the corner and use the eye bolt to ring it three times. The door rises slowly at first and then closes and opens again more quickly. If you don't time it right the door will hit and kill you. Go through the door and use the detonator cap by the fence and then use the detonator. Now walk to your right to the water tank drop the suitcase and key and you get killed, there is nothing you can do about this but if you have the amulet you will be re-incarnated - as a cougar. You now have about 100 seconds to complete the mission that the Indian told you about. Run out into the graveyard and through the wrought iron gate and into the saloon. Go up the stairs. Jump over the hole in the floor and through the broken window. Go to the left to the broken wall and out onto the statue. Take the eagle and down turn left to where you find a barrel of tar. Coat one paw with tar and then go into the mansion to the cask of silver nitrate. Get the tar coated paw covered in silver nitrate and go back outside. Outside the saloon you see two werewolves. One runs off to the graveyard. Kill the one left behind and then run into the graveyard to kill the other. Now go back the way you came and drop the eagle on the fire. You now revert to your human form and rise from the grave. Pick up the Colt 45 and the bar of soap from behind the grave. Go to the water tank where you see your double drop the Colt and go up to your double. As your hands meet you will merge with your double. Pick up the Colt and climb up into the tank. Drop down into the tank and as soon as you land use the soap to get rid of the zombie down there. Pick up the brush he leaves behind and the flask. Use the brush to open the trap door and go down. Pick up the dead leaf from the corner and the note book. Use the leaf on the Indian bust and the door opens. Climb up the rungs and save your game. The next guy you meet is quite hard to kill even with beginner level selected so you need to be quick. Run along the passage and pick up the pick axe from the bed immediately to your right. Quickly turn around and attack with the pick axe and then kill the other one who comes through from the other room. Search the beds here to find a flask then go through into the next room. Pick up the papers from the corner. There is a drop in front of you, this a pit full of spikes. You can cross safely by treading on to the slabs which appear as you cross. Start from about two thirds across to your right and save your game after each successful move. When you have crossed the pit you will meet a particularly hard zombie. Attack him with the pick axe and then go into the library where you meet another zombie, he is also quite hard but if you attack before he gets a chance to retaliate you can kill him quite easily. Search this room for a book, a needle and a candle stick and a water pitcher. When you pick up the candle stick the door will open. Go through it and walk up to the rifleman. Use the pitcher and the lift door will open. Go into the lift and pick up the piggy bank, throw it and you will find a glass slide. Push the lever and go up to the next room. Use the glass slide on the microscope and look at the microscope. You will see four coloured blobs, grey, green, blue and red. Push the four wall switches in this order and the door to the lab opens. Enter the lab and walk to the far end and take the poison from the table. Use the poison to poison the needle. Walk back to the other end of the lab and find the table with the distilling flask. Use the poison and you will shrink. Now walk through the bars into the cell. You will now resume your normal size. Attack the doctor with the poisoned needle. When you have killed him take the straw, bottle of ammonia and cell key. Use the key and leave the cell. Use the poison with the distilling flask again and go through the hole behind the leg of the table. Use the straw to pole vault over the gap. Pick up the potion and exit. Here there is a large spider. Run over to the crack in the wall where there is some fluid leaking, use the potion on it and then get out of the way of the spider. When he drinks from the crack in the wall he shrinks to his normal size. Walk over and stamp on him. Get the glue pot and use it to coat your hands. Now walk over to the shaft of light and climb up through the hole in the ceiling. As soon as you can move run over to the table and pick up the zombie's head. Quickly turn around and run back to the hole and throw the head down the hole, he will follow. Now pick up the flask and push the anvil to get the lead ingot and winchester from behind it. Save your game before entering the next room, where you will meet Cobra, an acrobatic Zombie. The easiest way to defeat him is to run around to keep out of his way and shoot him with the winchester. You will probably use most of your ammunition but you can do it. After killing him pick up the flask, Cobra's wig and a silver dollar. Now look at the poster, a picture of Jed Stone and note the slot in the bottom left corner. Use the silver dollar to open the door. Go through the door and down the shaft. Pick up the matches and go through the door. You see Jed Stone run away and Emily is here too. Walk to the crucible, taking care not to step on the pattern on the floor. Use the lead ingot on the crucible and then use the matches. The lead melts and coats the radioactive rock, forming an evil wand. Take this and also take the scorched paper and the ammunition from the corner. Go through the doorway, which closes behind you and also starts a door at the other end with spikes in it moving towards you, run to the far end and kill the zombie. Turn around and run back towards the door you entered through. Throw the bottle of ammonia at the door. This will wake Emily who pulls the lever to stop the spiked door. Walk back to the spiked door and pick up the knife which the zombie dropped. Use Cobra's wig on the switch above the door. Go through the door where you meet the Elwood brothers and also Jed Stone who has donned a bullet proof suit. Run to the totem pole at the far end and use the evil wand. The Elwood brothers are killed. Now go back to the other end and open the tap, allowing the water to fill the trench. Pick up the rubber glove from the corner and use it. Now use the knife on the cables on the wall. The live cable falls into the water. Run to the totem pole and hide inside and watch Jed meet his fate. Pick up the bag of coal and walk to the locomotive. Use the coal and the matches and push the lever. Now sit back and watch the finale. THE END - o -
