Contributions / All About SynTax -------------------------------- Contributions My thanks to this issue's contributors: Keith Adam, Richard Batey, Belisana, Hazel Bradshaw, Mark Bradshaw, Jean Childs, Theo Clarke, Steve Clay, Graham Cluley, Bill Commons, Phil Darke, Niall Dowling, David Froude, Julian Gregory, The Grue, Richard Hewison, Richard Hunt, James Judge, Alex van Kaam, Tom Lorimer, Alan Medley, MerC, John Moore, Ron Rainbird, Phil Richmond, Shebo, Neil Shipman, George Smith, Dave Stone and Bev Truter The maps in the Screenshots section (SynWin HDD only) were provided by Hazel Bradshaw. To recap the rules for the award for any new readers, points are awarded at the rate of 1 point per published K of information in the form of reviews, solutions, hints, maps, letters and articles. Points are NOT awarded for graphic files used in the PC 3.5" HD version. The points are added when the data is published, not when it is sent in. Files are published as soon as possible but maintaining the balance of the magazine is also a high priority. At the end of a year (which will be Issue 42) the top five contributors will be awarded prizes in the form of Myth and Magic figures, the first prize being presented on a wooden base with a specially engraved plaque. The first prize winner will also get a year's free sub to SynTax, five free issues to the second prize winner and so forth. Those five individuals' points are then zeroed and everyone else's carried forward for the next year, giving everyone a chance to win a prize if he or she keeps contributing steadily. Richard Hewison's and Roy Sims' points have been added together this issue because it has just been revealed that Roy was Richard's pseudonym. Here is the current points list: Richard Hewison 345.9 James Judge 223.4 Jean Childs 193.2 Alex van Kaam 176.9 Graham Cluley 169.7 Simon Avery/Grimwold 156.7 Ron Rainbird 151.3 Piotr Tyminski 148.5 The Bitmap Kid 129.4 Bev Truter 125.8 Jim Johnston 121.7 The Grue 113.2 Alex McEwan 111.8 Hazel Bradshaw 106.8 Brian Burke 104.9 Julian Gregory 102.8 Janice Charnley 98.9 Andy Stenhouse 90.3 Phil Richmond 83.6 Tom Lorimer 82.4 Steve McLaren 80.0 Bill Commons 76.0 Mark Bradshaw 75.2 Mary Scott-Parker 71.6 John Moore 65.3 Phil Darke 61.8 Matthew Pegg 58.8 Richard Hunt 56.2 Belisana 54.3 MerC 53.2 David Froude 52.2 Maureen Barton 51.3 Ian Taylor 45.1 John R Barnsley 44.8 Kev Phillips 43.1 George Smith 42.7 Mongoose 41.4 Dave Stone 40.9 Graham Wheeler 40.1 Steve Clay 39.8 Alan Beer 39.5 Henry Rushing 37.9 Shebo 35.5 Terry Brawls 34.0 Linda Turnham 31.1 John Betteridge 30.1 Dave Malmberg 29.4 Nigel Parker 27.4 Steve McGuire 26.3 Michael J Roberts 25.6 High Voltage 23.3 James Jillians 23.2 Tony Woolcock 22.6 Kjell Robertsen 21.9 Claire Dyard 20.8 The Rochdale Balrog 20.4 John Carter 19.5 Neil Shipman 19.4 Colin Campbell 18.8 The Wayfarer 17.7 Steven Fleischaker 16.3 Paul Vincent 16.0 Paul Johnson 15.3 Joel Finch 15.2 Niall Dowling 15.0 Barbara Gibb 15.0 Theo Clarke 14.3 Richard Batey 13.7 Patrick Farley 13.7 Sox 13.2 Neil Currie 12.4 Frederick Darlington 12.3 Pete Phillips 12.2 Peter Hague 12.0 Steve Cook 10.9 Dave Barker 10.6 Greg Lord 10.6 Mark Darlison 9.8 Anna Bradshaw 9.5 Ivan Broad 9.4 Paul Cardin 9.0 Bill Hoggett 8.9 Clive Wilson 7.9 Rusty Dowling 7.2 STormbringer 6.9 Nogwidget 6.1 Ray and Jo Green 6.0 Jack Lockerby 5.9 Stalker 5.9 Dave Leary 5.8 Tim Kemp 5.6 William McCole 5.4 Alison Dunbar 5.2 The Unknown Adventur 4.8 Laurence Creighton 4.5 Jay Blank 4.5 John Nicholls 4.2 David Charnley 3.7 Paul Brunyee 3.0 Steve Frost 2.5 Carl Dove 2.4 Paul Cooper 2.3 Danny Pearman 2.2 Amanda Oliver 2.0 David Stocks 1.3 Keith Adam 1.2 Simon Poxon 1.0 Norman Allan 0.9 Keith Green 0.9 Martyn Westwood 0.7 John Gurd 0.6 Jim O'Keefe 0.6 Paul Coppins 0.6 Geoff Knight 0.5 Vicky Campbell 0.3 So, if you have any contributions for future issues of SynTax, please send them in. They can be for old or new games, hints, solutions, reviews, maps, articles - anything! Ideally they should arrive before the 15th of the month before the disk is produced to have a chance of being included in the next issue. Second (or third) opinions of adventures are always welcome. Ideally I'd like ST and PC contributions in ASCII form on disk and, if you send on disk, I'll replace it with the PD disk of your choice. Amiga text files can also be sent on PC disk using Cross-Dos, Otherwise you can send printouts, typed or hand-written contributions. ----------------------------------------------------------------- All about SynTax SynTax is a bimonthly colour magazine for the ST, Amiga and PC which is published in the middle of July, September, November, January, March and May.
