News Interactive Magic have two new games out. One, Star Raiders, is an action-oriented, mission-based strategy game developed from their original 8-bit Atari game of the same name. The other, Capitalism, is a strategy game where you aim to become top in the cut-throat world of capitalism, establishing your own corporation, buying and selling stock and taking over your competitors. Ascendancy, from The Logic Factory, is also a strategy cum management game. Explore and settle a galaxy, research ships, plot trips and explore some more. Use diplomacy against alien races ... you can even pick your OWN species. Mission Critical and Shannara (talk to Grue about THAT one!) are already out from Legend, and more goodies (we hope) are on their way. Callahan's Crosstime Saloon is based on Spider Robinson's series of novels and set in a bar in Long Island. The bar is frequented by aliens and psychic or unusually talented humans who solve problems for those who visit the place. It will be divided into 10 chapters. Wheel of Time is a 3D adventure, like Under a Killing Moon, and based on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. It will run under Windows and the characters in it will wander about regardless of your actions. CCS will be out mid-1996 and WoT at the end of the year. A vague bit of news coming up for a 3D adventure, The Dark Eye, from Inscape. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, voice-over by William S. Burroughs, music by Thomas Dolby. That's all the info I have apart from some excellent looking screenshots. 1st Degree from Broderbund runs under Windows and is a murder mystery. You are San Francisco's DA and must prove that artist James Tobin is a murderer, putting together clues and evidence to prove your case. Following their success with Wolf!, Sanctuary Woods now give you a chance to find out what it's like to be a lion in ... erm ... Lion, the latest in their Predator Series. The simulation has 5 difficulty levels, 3D graphics and 20 different lions with their own personalities, and 20 mission-based scenarios. Warner Active's Panic in the Park is set in Sky View amusement park. Described as an interactive adventure with over 30 characters, FMV, increasing skill levels and over 200 outcomes, it contains games and puzzles for you to beat to solve the park's mystery. Look out for a bumper bundle in the form of the LucasArts Archives Volume 1; 5 CDs in one pack containing Sam and Max, Indy and the Fate of Atlantis, Rebel Assault special edition, Day of the Tentacle and the Star Wars screensaver. Discworld addicts will be interested to hear of the Discworld Convention to be held 28th-30th June 1996 in Manchester.
