War of the Worlds - on SynTax Disk 898
                     (Amiga 3DCK game)

This is a demo disk of a 3D type game supposedly based on the
HG Wells film, at least the space ships look the same shape.
I found it to be more like an advanced Space Invaders game.
It has the usual cubes and rectangles associated with this
type of program representing buildings and doors. Most of the
doors are locked and a message is displayed saying "This door
is locked. Go away." Another says "Demo Version only. Get the
full game only œ2.99".

I found a television in another room. When I turned it on, a
message came up with a telephone number for a helpline.

Other buildings seemed to have laser guns in them. Every time
I entered a new location a spaceship attacked me and even if
I destroyed it another one would immediately replace it and I
was killed. I soon got fed up with this and I could not make
further progress. Not my sort of game.
