@~... And now the third solution for this popular game! The Dig Solution By Phil Darke Earth is in danger of collision with an Asteroid, which has been named Attilla. The Shuttle has been dispatched to place explosives to change its course. The game starts with the shuttle arriving near the Attilla. The commander Boston Lowe, Ludger Brink and Maggie Robbins are deployed near the shuttle ready to place the explosives. Click on the pen ultimate in your inventory and talk to Miles who will deploy the pig. When this is done click on the pig and head for Attilla. After the pig has landed click on it and take the shovel, two explosive charges and the zero gravity digger. Now head for quadrant three. Use the shovel to move the boulder and place charge beta on the surface and arm it with the arming key. Now move to quadrant two. Use the zero G digger on the target surface and place and arm charge alpha. Now return to the shuttle. Talk to Borden and tell him to detonate the charges. After the explosion return to Attilla. Enter the crevice. You find a metallic plate and three odd projections. Push the plate and it falls down a shaft. Use the zero G digger on the three odd projections to reveal three more plates. Push these and they also fall. Enter the dark tunnel and then head for the pedestal. Pick up the four plates and place them in the square indentation. Attilla starts to move and transports you to a new location far from where you started. You find yourself in a canyon with a platform and a clearing with three unknown locations. Go to the left location, the wreck of some alien space ship. Enter the wreck and click on the chest and take the device. Pull the hanging wire. Pick up the engraved rod and the wire. Now go to the top location, the grave yard. Use the shovel on the graves and pick up the tusk and jaw bone. Now go to the right location, the dirt ramp. Click on the device you found in the wreck. It points to a small mound. Use the shovel with the mound and you uncover a bracelet. Return to the platform and use the shovel with the small hole to the right of the platform. Brink takes over the digging, the ground collapses and he falls into the hole and is killed. Enter the hole. At the bottom you find yourself in the Nexus where there are four doors, a ramp, a tunnel, a column and an alcove. Robbins decides to go off and explore on her own. You also find a purple engraved rod and a metallic plate. Go down the ramp and you find yourself in a room with a control panel, a triangular button and an edge. If you look over the edge you are looking at the power source and you can see an unattached lens and an empty lens slot. The control panel controls a crane like the ones you find on the end of a pier and the object of the exercise is to put the lens back into the empty slot, thus restoring power. The control panel has seven buttons, the five right hand buttons light different coloured lights in the display to the right. Four of the colours represent directions and the fifth operates the grab. The top left button is back space and the bottom left clears the display. Experiment with the controls and when you think you have the right combination. Push the triangular button to operate the crane. In the wall behind you is a loose plate if you move this you find a blue crystal. Take this and return to the Nexus. You can now open the 2nd door to the left of the entrance. Examine the purple rod and match the colours and shapes on the control panel with those on the rod. Go through the door and press the blue triangular tram call. When the tram arrives enter and travel to a new location. Go down the steps to the weakened door, but you can't open it yet so go outside and up the path. At the top is a lens, and a strange device. Click on the strange device and then on the switch, keep the mouse button pressed. At first nothing happens so exit and adjust the lens, repeat the process until a line appears on the display. This is a light bridge. You can walk across the light beam to a crystal form, surrounded by five pinnacles. You can do nothing here yet so go back to the cliff top. Go through the door into the museum. Click on all the displays. Pick up the green crystals and the tablet. You also find another engraved rod, a red one this time. Go through the door on the left and meet up with Robbins. Look at the consoles. There is nothing more to be done here for the moment so go back to the Nexus. Use the green crystals on Brink's body and he is brought back to life. Now return with Brink to the museum. Get Brink to help you to open the door at the bottom and enter the room. Here you find more of the green life crystals and a canister. Show the canister to Brink then exit. Go to the water at the bottom of the path. A turtle like creature emerges from the water and gets eaten by a large eel leaving behind a pile of bones. At this point Brink disappears. Under the water is a cave which you need to explore, but first you have to get rid of the eel. You need to reconstruct the turtle's skeleton from the pile of bones. Near where you are standing is a fossil. Look at this to get an idea of what the creature should look like when it is reconstructed. When you have successfully reconstructed the turtle the description changes to DEAD CREATURE. Use the canister on the dead animal and then use a life crystal on it to bring it back to life. The eel now eats the turtle again, but this time gets blown up, leaving the way clear for you to explore the underwater cave. Here you find another metal plate and an orange engraved rod. Return to the Nexus and open the door to the left of the entrance, using the symbols on the orange rod. Go through the door and press the tram call and enter the tram. You arrive at a location with a path leading up. Go up to the top and jump across the chasm. When you get to the other side use the shovel on the large boulder, which falls and forms a bridge across the chasm. Continue up to the plateau, where you find another light bridge. Activate it in the same way as before. Now go across the path to the right, by the waterfall. Here you find a crevice with a strange glow inside and a blue rod. Take the rod and return to the plateau. Continue up to the area by the door. As you approach a rat steals a part from the panel by the side of the door. You need to get this back in order to open the door. Pick up the dowel and use it on the hole in the wheel. Now pick up the pole and use it on the pin. Pick up the cage and use it on the hook. Pick up the rod and use it on the rib cage to form a trap. Click on the hole nearest to the door and when the rat emerges, walk around the front of the trap and approach the rat from the left. The rat will spring the trap. Now use the bracelet on the rat and release it. It runs into the cave. Use the shovel to enlarge the cave entrance and enter. Use the blue device and dig at the point indicated by it. Take the machine part and go back to the panel. Use the machine part and use it on the panel. Pick up the cover and use it on the panel. Press the button to open the door. Enter the room, this is the Planetarium. Pick up the green engraved rod and the metal plate. Take the two sceptres. Click one of the sceptres on the dim light in the roof. Remember the display in the museum, one of them showed an eclipse and this is what you must recreate. Use the gold sceptre with the large moon and move it to the 2 o'clock position. Now use the silver sceptre with the small moon and move it between the large moon and the planet. If the rat steals the machine part again simply click the button to open the door. Return to the Nexus. You can now open the door to the left of the column, using the red rod. If you go through the door and press the tram call nothing happens. Return to the Nexus and enter the dark tunnel. Press the green button to the right of the airlock. Enter the airlock and press the green button twice. Enter and click on the glowing panel. There are five crystals, one of which is unlit. Use the blue rod on one of the holes. Blue rods appear in the other two holes. Click on the top of the dead crystal and slide each of the rods up and down until the dead crystal is at maximum brightness. When you have adjusted them correctly the dead crystal will come alive and restore power to the tram call. Go back and press the tram call again enter the tram and when it stops go right, to the plateau. Follow the path until you come to another light bridge. Activate this in the same way as before. Then continue up the path to the cave interior. On the platform at the top you will meet Brink. Talk to him but he won't help you. Go back down to the plateau. At the base of the tree is a stone plate. Use the shovel on it and enter the hole. Use the blue crystal on the hole in the wall then stand on the stone with the two half moons engraved on it. Use the rod from the planetarium to wedge it in place. Go outside and click on the dirt to the left of the hole, to reveal a lens. Go back into the tomb. The large triangular plate should rise up with a statue on it. If this does not happen you will have to return to the planetarium and recreate the eclipse. Touch the statue and it crumbles to dust. There is nothing more to do here for the moment so return to the Nexus. You now need to open the door to the right of the column using the green rod, but you cannot do so because the conduit supplying power to it has been broken. Use the tusk to open the panel and then use the wire on the panel and then on the sparks. You can now open the door. Go through the door and use the tram. Go to the ledge and from there to the cavern. Go right to the pit and you are in the map room. The panel in the centre of the room allows you to view various locations. Match the symbols with those on the red rod to get a view of the tomb. Exit and go through the opening at the top. Here you find another light bridge. This one is broken and you need to fix it before you can activate it. Open the panel and click on it. Inside you will find 5 white prisms and a red, green and a blue prism. Turn the middle (source) prism 3 times; turn the lower left prism 3 times; turn the top left prism 4 times and turn the upper right prism once. Activate the light bridge and cross it to the tomb. Enter the tomb and stand on the crypt. You will be carried down. Go left to the door. As you try to open the door a life crystal falls onto the pile of bones at the right and brings a guardian to life. Use a life crystal on the other pile of bones. The two monsters fight and kill each other. Now use the yellow rod which you got from the wreck on the door panel. Enter the door and walk up to the pyramid and use the yellow rod on the panel. Use a life crystal on the alien corpse. Talk to the alien, but you can't understand what he says. Talk to Maggie, as you are talking she is captured. Go and talk to Brink. At first he refuses to help. Go to the cavern and use the flashlight on the bat creatures. Brink is scared and runs out. Go back to the platform and take Brink's stash of light crystals. He will now agree to help you. Go to the map spire and go to the nest. Here you find Maggie tied up by a giant spider. Try to go through the door on the right. The spider prevents you. Talk to Brink and get him to distract the spider while you go through the door and up to the falls source. Push the rock to divert the water. Go back to the nest. Talk to Brink again and get him to distract the monster again while Maggie unblocks the grate. The monster is washed away. Brink leaves. Go to the museum spire and collect some more life crystals then return with Maggie to the Alien in the tomb and get Maggie to talk to the alien. Go to the map spire and enter the opening to the right of the tram. Examine the strange field and show Maggie the tablet from the museum. Maggie operates the field and an island emerges from the water. Go to the island and enter the opening, take the metal plate. You decide to talk to Brink about your discovery. As you are leaving Brink calls you and tells you he needs your help as he is trapped. Go to the planetarium spire and then go to the room where the crevice is. Brink has his arm trapped in the crevice and the only way to free him is to amputate his arm. Use the jaw bone you took from the grave. Tell Brink about the metal plate and he agrees to return with you to the Nexus to try it out. Use the four plates in the indentation. The door to the right opens. Brink leaves. Enter the door into the Cathedral. Press the tram call and enter the tram. Go into the door to the lab and examine the console at the bottom of the screen. There is a part missing and also spaces for two life crystals. Talk to Maggie about the console. Now go to the top of the screen to the light bridge. Remove the nest from the lens and activate the light bridge. Go to the tomb and talk to the alien again. Ask about the console in the lab and about the missing part. The alien will give you a white engraved rod. Take this to the map room and use it on the panel. Go to the nest and through the door to the right and to the beach. The missing part is here. Return to the lab. As you are about to use the part on the console Brink appears and demands all your life crystals. He takes them and leaves. Go to the tomb spire and talk to Brink. Tell him about the eye piece and make a deal with him to share the life crystals. He agrees. Use the eye piece on the slot in the machine. The machine produces two crystals, take them and the eye part but Brink is unwilling to keep the bargain. A fight ensues and Brink falls to his death. Return to the lab and use the eye part and life crystals on the console. Talk to Maggie about the console. She operates the console but is killed. Go to the light bridge and as you start to cross a guardian appears. Go back to the light bridge and operate the switch on the strange device. The guardian falls to its death. Restart the light bridge and cross to the centre. Enter the eye and click on the portal. Now sit back and watch the conclusion. THE END - o -
