Hints & Help by Bev Truter What am I trying to do...what's the point of this game? You have to enrol as a student of Tumblegum University, find a parking sticker for your car which is illegally parked in the Car Park, and find a toilet. However, finding THE toilet is your first priority - if you try dealing with other problems before tackling this one, you waste time, and your car gets towed away in its stickerless condition. Are there any shortcuts? You can get to The Room of Much Dust by pushing the East wall in the basement of the College, or in the Storage Room north of Administration, or in the basement of the Ivory Tower. How can I get into the toilet? If you are outside the toilet in the Library, it is permanently occupied by a variety of people, and you will never be able to enter it. You have to find THE toilet, which is located at the end of the "Lost" maze in the Northeast section of the Arts Building, North of Almost Lost. How do I map this !@#$ maze? With great difficulty! Everything you drop in the maze disappears. From Almost Lost go:- N-NE-NE-N-E-W-S to Rome. The toilet is East of Rome, but there's a Guard outside..... What is the point of becoming a cat? If you have used the machine in Physics research up in the Ivory Tower, you will turn into a cat. (Press button, then enter mirror). You are unable to carry anything as a cat, and all the items you drop are sent to Lost and Found in the Arts Building, where you can retrieve them later. In your feline form you will be able to see something that was hidden from view as a human, on the Long Path where some graffiti adorns a wall. As a cat you find the sharp machete, which you will be able to pick up once you have returned to your human form. What is the machete used for? Near the garden path there are four locations where you see "nasty bushes". Chop bushes with the machete, and you reveal an opening to The Shrine. There's a "pot" plant here, which you need to get rid of that Guard outside the toilet. How can I get rid of the Guard outside the Toilet? You have to carry the "pot" plant around for a while. First it will start wilting, then eventually die. If you examine it at this point it is "a dead pot plant". About 20 moves after this it shrivels up, you discard the ceramic pot, and you are left holding some dried leaves instead. If you've examined the Guard, you'll know by his tattoos that he loves his mum and dope, so give leaves to Guard. How do I get back to the University from the Car Park? You need the key from the toilet to unlock a large wooden door between the Car Park and Administration Foyer. The section with all the Trees leads to the Car Park, but you can't return that way. Why does my car keep on getting towed away? You only have a limited time to find that essential parking sticker, so become a cat, find machete, get pot plant, find toilet. Where can I find a parking sticker? There is one inside the Volvo, but the Volvo is locked, so you will have to break in by throwing something heavy through the windscreen. The brick won't work, so try using the ancient typewriter in the Storage Room north of the Administration Foyer. How can I prevent myself drowning in the Lake? You need to find Karen up in the Ivory Tower and fix her halo. She gives you something in return. How do I fix the halo? Collect all the necessary equipment you find lying around:- The repair kit and instructions from the Room of Much Dust; the tube of spak-filla from the Garden Path; the paintbrush from Lost and Found; the tin of gold paint from the Back of the College; and the box of gold glitter from the Storeroom in the Craft Shop, SE of the Mall. Then read the instructions which are attached to the repair kit. How do I use the silver money card in the ATM at the Bank? You need to find an ID number, so read the graffiti at the Long Path where you found the machete. Someone uses sewing thread number 3214, and this is the number you need for the ATM. What do I do with the enrolment form? Go to the Registrar's Office and talk to him about the form. Examine his desk, and you see an empty green bottle. Perhaps a bribe might work? Where can I find a full green bottle? Go NE from the Mall to the Wrecked Club, then north to the Bar. Examine the bar, and you find a closed trapdoor, which leads to the Plonk Cellar below. How do I deal with the Bartender? Forget about chatting, bribery and gentle persuasion....hit him with the brick, then hurry down to the Cellar before he regains consciousness and throws you into the street. I've got the green bottle, how do I enrol? Go to the registrar again with the enrolment form and the full green bottle. Give him the bottle, and he signs the form, hands it back to you, then tells you to see the Enrolments secretary. Why won't the Enrolments secretary help me? First get the Registrar to sign the form, then give her the signed form. She returns from seeing the Registrar, but still looks at you expectantly. Give the money to the secretary. What do I do with the Nerd? Read the Chaos Poster at the Green Space and find the waterpistol. When you find the Nerd in the Library, shoot him. He dies, but leaves behind an interesting bit ... he won't leave the bit behind if you shoot him in any other location. What about the empty desk in Lecture 2, Engineering? Read the sign on the desk and push the button. A hatch appears, so open hatch, and put interesting bit in hatch. Then close the hatch and press the button again. How do I operate the coke machine in the Alcove? Ignore the slot for money, and push 3 buttons. After each push you will see a list of button numbers - choose the number with the asterisk after it each time. (Push 2, then 6, then 3). - o -
