David Stocks' Top Ten
---------------------

Here is this year's Top Ten - there does not appear to be many
good ones coming on the market lately.

1. Dungeon Master - Still in a league of its own for playability
and atmosphere. I even now still bash through it.

2. Chaos Strikes Back - More of the above - how did they manage to
produce Dungeon Master 2 after the above games??


3. Lords of Time - The one that started me off onto adventures and
one of the best Level 9 ones.

4. Hammer of Grimmold - One I like and enjoyed solving it.

5. Lands of Lore - One of the more interesting latter day
offerings.

6. Eye of the Beholder Trilogy - Great fun to try to get the party
through all three in one go without a death.

7. Secret of Monkey Island 1 - One of the first and best of the
comic ones.

8. Stonekeep - A great RPG to play - even though it has a few bugs
in the save game suit, if you save in the wrong place it corrupts.

9. Drakken - Another oldie from the ST days.


10. World of Xeen - Another rather difficult one but interesting
to play.

It is interesting that the "old" text adventures are gradually
disappearing from the Top Ten lists. It appears from the letters
that more people are now on the PC.

@~Yes, it's a sign of the times. I think that once people see the
@~better graphic adventures on the PC, they are so impressed that
@~it is only an exceptional text game that can compete, or one
@~like Lords of Time for you because you have fond memories of it
@~as your first adventure ... Sue
