IGOR OBJECTIVE UIKOKAHONIA Demo on SynTax Disks 997a/b OPTIK SOFTWARE ---------------------------------------- Reviewed by Mark McDermott on a 486 DX2/66 This point and click adventure is like Lucasart and Sierra graphic adventures. The top part of the screen is the graphics which are nicely drawn. The bottom part contains the control panel where the verbs look, take etc and your inventory are. The adventure begins with Laura and Philip at the waterfall, discussing the biology trip they are going on, and what they will be doing when they are there. When they both leave the scene the screen pans right to reveal Igor hiding, he is not very happy to hear Philip is going on the biology trip, with the girl of his dreams. So Igor's objective is somehow to get on the biology trip to Uikokahonia, and get Laura to be his girl. To get around there are two maps, the first being a college campus with a church, faculty, dormitory, admin building; these four have their own locations, then there is the park and spring. The second map available further into the game is smaller with a lighthouse, forest and cemetery. The puzzles are not too difficult. The game has funny moments, especially during the cut sequences, if you do not solve one of the puzzles near the beginning of the adventure, but solve it near the end of the game, instead of getting the cut sequences gradually, you get them all one after each other. System requirement: IBM PC minimum 286 processor DOS 3.1 or higher VGA graphics 256 colours 640K RAM ( 576K conventional memory free ) HARD DRIVE 11 MEG free. A shareware demo of IGOR can be downloaded from Compuserve using FTP, keyword is IGOR. Optik software can be reached on the WEB at http://www.optik.com There are a few hints to IGOR, but you should not need them to progress in this game.
