Kingsley's Mansion - Getting Started ...

Starting outside a large gateway go N to the front porch. Look, X
door - you see a brass knocker and a plaque. Knock - this loosens
a nail above the door and a lantern falls to the floor, which you
pick up. E to the Southeast corner of the mansion where you see a
door set in the ground at your feet. Open door, D to the cellar,
Look.  You see a painting - X painting, X clown, X eyes - they
protrude from the painting, so "push eyes" to open a trapdoor
below the painting. Enter passageway, light lantern, Look. X
stairs - you see a book and a blood-stained knife - X book, get
diary, read diary - it tells of Alexandria's fears about her
father, Dr.  Kingsley.

Up to a bedroom, Look, X bed, X book, get Bible, read Bible - it
belonged to the maid, Rosie Casal. W-N-W-S to the foyer. Look,
wipe feet to prevent an irate housekeeper from impeding your
progress.  N-W-S to the Library. Look, X cabinet, open drawer, X
drawer - you see a brass key, get key. N-E to the parlour, X
painting, X family - it's a portrait of the 4 Kingsleys in happier
times...before dad lost a few of his marbles...N-U, X Kingsley,
"show knife" and the ghost of Dr. Kingsley fades away...
