----------> Ravenloft 2 - The Stone Prophet <---------- (Part 1) Solution from Alex van Kaam 1 - This solution has been started with a human paladin and a human mage, I tried to note all items so I'm sorry if some got through 2 - Once you have the helm of true seeing wear it at all times, because after you have found it I shall not point out every illusionary wall. -----> Desert of Har'akir, NPC: Trajan Khet, Min Deir, Hrak Tur, Anhg Krag Monsters: Desert zombies, Giant vultures, Dust devils and Man scorpions, desert zombies. Go to the hut in the north/east, the woman Min Deir has no tongue and no eyes but she will draw you a map, leave the hut and go east to the well, get the teleport key to the city of Muhar and the scroll of teleportation, go east until you see Trajan Khet standing near some barrels, Talk to him and let him join you, return to the well and go down it. -----> The forgotten shrine of Neferti, Main level, NPC: Sennef Monsters: Fire toads, Snakes and Spitting snakes Items: 4 Keoghtom's ointments, 11 Water skins, 2 Sacks, White circle key, Key ring, Har'akir red robe, The shrine of Neferti teleport key, Scale helm, Padded armor, 2 Eyes of Neferti, Wand of magic missile, Scroll case, White robe, Ring mail, Bronze helm, Anhktepot seal quarter, Stone of good luck, Lockpicks, Leather helm, Silver clover key, Tragedy of Neferti scroll, Leather armor, Chain mail, Helm of brilliance, Har'akir battle axe, 2 Flasks of fiery burning, 2 Potion of fire resist, 5 Potion of healing, 5 Potions of extra healing and the Scrolls of Raise dead, 2 * Feather fall, Chill touch, Protect from evil, Agannazer's scorcher, Shield, Stinking cloud, Raise dead and Ice storm. Near the entrance you will find Sennef from the town of Muhar, she asks you if you will bring her back to her town, answer that you will do so once you have searched this shrine, she will not be very pleased but she will wait for you. During the conversation she will also give you a piece of a map, take a good look at it. Continue into the shrine until you come to two rooms, one will have the white circle key in it while the other has a pit in front of its entrance, a bit south of this room you will see a button, push it to close the pit, now enter the room and get the teleport key to this shrine together with the eye of Neferti. Now continue south and you will come to a locked door, use your key to open it. Explore the area until you come to a pressure plate which when stepped on will launch a fireball, before you go over this plate and head north save your game, once north kill the snakes as fast as you can and don't get poisoned. In this area you will find a button and one of your party members will say something about a trap, push the button and it will open the door opposite, behind this door is an illusionary wall, just walk trough it. Explore the whole area, find the silver clover key and the Anhktepot seal quarter, go to the door with the clover lock, behind this door you will find a scroll about Neferti, after reading the scroll continue and you will come to a door with two buttons, to know which one to press look at the scroll you got from Sennef. Behind this door you will find your second eye of Neferti, take it and continue around the corner, push the button and walk forward, you will now be pushed down into a hole. -----> The forgotten shrine of Neferti, Lower level, NPC: None Monsters: Snakes and Spitting snakes Items: White robe, 3 Water skins, 2 Keoghtom's ointment, Blue robe, Helm of telepathy, 2 Potions of extra healing and the Scrolls of Light and Burning hands. Clean the area and you will find two stairways, one will lead you near the hole you fell in, use it to get the items that are near the hole, the other staircase will lead you to a transporter which in return will transport you near the entrance of the level and near Sennef. But before leaving here make sure you take the Helm of telepathy, then go to Sennef and let her join you, now use the teleport key of the village of Muhar and you will be transported to it. -----> Desert of Har'akir, The village of Muhar, NPC: Piotra Monsters: None in the village Items: Scroll on desert trolls, Scroll on awakening Anhktepot, 13 Water skins, 8 Flasks of fiery burning, Keoghtom's ointment, Chain mail, Shield, Broad sword and the Scrolls of Blur, Armor and 2 * Magic missile Sennef will thank you and she will leave you, talk to the little boy north/west of you and he will give you the map of Har'akir. Now search all the huts, let Piotra join you, talk to the villagers and make sure you talk to man who is sitting with his daughter near his dying wife, the daughter will run away, get the scroll about Anhktepot and the one about desert trolls. After searching the village head south and you will come to the well, from there head west to Min Deir's hut. With your helm of telepathy you can now talk to her, she will want you to get the 2 eyes of Neferti so that she can lead you into the Obelisk, since you already have these eyes give them to her. Drop Trajan Keth from your party and let the old woman join you. Now head back to the village of Muhar and from there go north/east, you will soon find some ruins, search these ruins and you will find the Obelisk, enter it. -----> The Obelisk, Chamber of the Prophet, NPC: None Monsters: None Items: None Min Deir will now leave you and the guardian of the Prophet will appear, talk to the guardian and after his conversation leave the Obelisk, head south and re-recruit Trajan Keth from the same location you recruited him before. Now that your party is again filled go back to the Obelisk and go down the stairs. -----> The Obelisk, Lower level 1, NPC: None Monsters: Man scorpions Items: 8 Water skins, Obelisk teleport key, 3 Keoghtom's ointment, Har'akir light armor and helm, Sling pouch, Sling, 12 Sling bullets, Key ring, Knopesh sword, Silver axe key, 3 Chests, 2 Arrows, Short bow, Throwing knife, Periapt of proof vs. poison, Map of obelisk, 2 Stone Prophet parchment fragments, Green robe, 2 Potions of healing, 7 Potions of extra healing, Potion of speed and the Scrolls of Flame arrow, Improved identify, Hold monster and Feather fall. The first thing to learn is how to fight the Man Scorpions without being poisoned, well first of all fight them one at a time and the second trick is to keep moving back whilst attacking. If you do get poisoned and your cleric hasn't got the cure poison spell use Keoghtom's ointment instead. Now from the entrance first go through the right door, once the area is clear let Trajan Keth search for secret doors in the big hall and he will find one in the west wall. Behind this door you will find a piece of the Stone Prophet's parchment, now go back to the large hall and go south, here you will find several doors, buttons, levers and transporters. To make the levers work push all the buttons, in the end you will find the silver axe key. Now go back to the entrance hall and go through the left door, here you will find a stone named periapt of proof vs. poison and an area with a lot of transporters. Enter the middle one to reach a button, pushing it will remove a wall and behind this wall you will find your second piece of the Stone Prophet's parchment and some stairs leading down, don't take the stairs yet instead go back to the entrance hall and go through the silver axe door. You are now in the outer ring of this level, west you will find a map and south you will find a button, a hole and some stairs going down, push the button to close the hole, make sure you covered the whole level, there shouldn't be any blank spaces left on your map, and go down the stairs. -----> The Obelisk, Lower level 2, NPC: None Monsters: Floating dead heads and Man scorpions Items: Wand of fireballs, 12 Water skins, Bracers of defence, 2 Keoghtom's ointments, Silver star key, 3 Pieces of parchment of the Stone Prophet, 2 bags of dust of disappearance, Ring of protection, Powder of coagulation, Halberd, Quarterstaff, White robe, Magical stone, Shield, 5 Stones, 2 Potions of fire resist, Potion of speed, 1 Potion of healing, 7 Potions of extra healing and the Scrolls of Raise dead, Neutralise poison, Magical stones, Protection from evil and Flaming sphere Beware of the fact that when you kill a floating dead head it will explode and send lighting at your party ! From the entrance go to the south door, head east and go through the illusionary wall at the end, kill all the floating dead heads and get what you need, then head west until you come to a pit. The button near the pit will remove a wall a bit back, you are now able to reach the stairs to level 3 and back to level 1 near the transporters. Don't go down these stairs yet, instead there is a illusionary wall just south of the pit, go through it and push the button to close the pit. Now continue beyond the pit and you will come to a T-junction, go north to get the silver star key and push the button, now go back to the T-junction and go east, through the transporter and you will find a chest with another piece of the parchment of the Stone Prophet, step through the second transporter and go back to the entrance hall, open the silver star doors. Beyond these doors is a very large hall with a lot of doors, buttons, pressure pads and 4 pits, now first clean the hall of monsters without pushing any buttons or stepping on any pressure pads. When this is done go down the holes 1, 2 and 4 counted from the left, these pits will drop you to areas in level 3 that you can't reach any other way, these are small areas and they all have a transporter to bring you back to the big hall on level 2. Once you have done this push all the buttons in the great hall and enter all the small rooms, in the end you will find two more pieces of the parchment of the Stone Prophet. If you now look at your map you can see that it is completely filled so find the stairs and descend to level 3 -----> The Obelisk, Lower level 3, NPC: None Monsters: Minotaurs Items: 3 Pieces of parchment of the Stone Prophet, 8 Water skins, Silver moon key, Hierophant seal quarter, 8 stones, Shield, Scale mail, Knopesh sword, Wand of enemy detection, 4 Keoghtom's ointments, Scroll of sacrifice, 8 Har'akir red robes, Scroll of gifts, Potion of giant strength and the scrolls of Shocking grasp, Fireball, Create water, Cure light wounds and Cone of cold. This level has several illusionary walls and some transporters, so check all the walls when you spot an area on your map that you can't enter, all in all this isn't a very difficult level. First head east from the stairs, find the two pieces of the Stone Prophet parchment, get the silver moon key and search the rest of this area, then go west from the stairs. Here you also have to find a piece of the parchment of the Stone Prophet and you will find some scrolls explaining this obelisk. In the end you will have 8 pieces of parchment the seal quarter and the whole map will be filled. When this is so go up the stairs and go to the Chamber of the Prophet. Now stand in front of the hieroglyph wall and take one piece of the red parchment and one piece of the blue parchment in your hand, now look at the writing on the wall and use the two pieces to read it. In the end you will have something like this: Hot gales, the sands arise. Flesh corrupts and falls away. These are the signs of their coming. The wrath of Anhktepot burns the land, who hopes to rule must lure the evil to him. In the ancient burial hall the guardian of the gate of the dead awaits. She shall judge them by deeds both good and bad. Her son the sweet lute did play. This gentle music the ghost awaits. To the priest, the mystic urn is given. The temple of harvest shall be restored. Beyond the gate of dead, he awaits. The souls of the stranger knows the way. Master of the winged wind. Three signals, the whistle sounds, summoning forth the falcon. The eight tears shall fall. Ra weeps and the stone shatters, a fragment of the seal is revealed. They capture the sun and in a coffer hold the might of Ra. By its light, the soul and seal are freed. Two seals, each in four pieces lie, piece by piece, the seals rejoined, two gates are opened. Into conflict, the foes are led: Anhktepot and the other. When falls the wall of Ra, two gates be opened. The way home. Throughout the rest of the game you will slowly fulfil this prophecy. Now leave the obelisk and head south, eventually you will see a large cross shaped building, enter it. @~To be continued next issue - o -
