They work with the "X files," cases that have unexplainable elements and often involve the paranormal. /Production Notes/ The series was created by Chris Carter. Executive producer for the show is Chris Carter. Co-executive producers are R.W. Goodwin and Howard Gordon, and the co-producer is Paul Rabwin. Rob Bowman, Kim Manners, and Joseph Patrick Finn are producers. Story editors are Frank Spotnitz, Darin Morgan, and Jeff Vlaming. Vince Gilligan is creative consultant. The show is filmed almost entirely in Vancouver, British Columbia. For third season, the show will be broadcast in Dolby Surround Sound. _The X Files_ is *not based on true events or real FBI X files.* The episodes are fiction, the plots loosely based on news reports of unexplained events around the world and other unexplained phenomena.
