Internet / WWW Section By Sue A couple of you emailed me after last issue because you'd been unable to access Phil Reynolds' and Clive Wilson's web sites. Phil's is on CompuServe and their pages are notoriously slow to get onto from an outside source. Keep trying! I had problems getting on for 2 nights, but then tried during the day and was on in seconds. So that address is fine; just to repeat it, it's ... http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Philip_Reynolds Now, Clive has changed IPs in the time between my writing his address in last issue, and the mag coming out! I'll let you know when he's back on-line and will give the new Kobayashi address. A Postscript to that, I just had a letter from him and he says it is unlikely he will put the site back when he gets his new IP as he didn't have many visitors to it. Luckily, no-one has had problems getting onto the SynTax homepage! http://www.harpercollins.co.uk/voyager/ --------------------------------------- Sent in by Alex, this is the URL for the Harper Collins Voyager book section - they describe themselves as "the Number One in SF and Fantasy!" In the latest update, they look at all the new releases, such as Arthur C Clarke's latest book, 3001, Jack Vance's Night Lamp, Julian May's Sky Trillium, The Unauthorized Trekkers' Guide, and Raymond E. Feist's Rage of a Demon King. They also cover related subjects such as convention news and CD-ROM tie-ins. http://uran.net/sci_fi/goscifi.html ----------------------------------- Alex told me about this site, The Wheel of Worlds. It covers many of the major SF TV programmes, old and new, plus some others that I guess the people who designed the site like (I haven't herad of all of them) - Blake's 7, New Outer Limits, Planet of the Apes, Third Rock from the Sun, Murder One, Space Precinct and, of course, X Files. http://home.sol.no/life/Themes/Themes.html ------------------------------------------ Alex found this too. A good place to get Windows 95 Plus! Themes, all categories from TV, films, games and music to cars and people. http://www.theouterlimits.com/ ------------------------------ Another one from Alex. He told me by email, "This must be the best site I have ever seen. It will take some time [to load], but is very very good I think ." http://www.pcworld.com/cgi-bin/database/file_body.pl?ID=3124 ------------------------------------------------------------ Yes, Alex has been busy surfing and sent me the URl for this site. It's a horror theme which is pretty good, mauve background with a screaming face and spooky icons. I've added it to the library but I'm sticking with my Holodeck 3 theme for the mo.
