Yendorian Tales Book 1, Chapter 2 (RPG on Disks 1005a/b for PC) Reviewed by Julian Gregory The second part of what I assume will be a series is completely different from the first. The game view is now played from the player's perspective, rather on the lines of Dungeon Master. The group now only consists of 4 characters instead of six. Most useful of all is the full walk-thru which is easily accessible. You can also call up details of the various enemies and the spells. However the shareware version only has access to a restricted number. The full complement can been obtained by registering your copy. This costs the same $22 or $29 if you want the hint book. One of my original complaints about Chapter 1 was the difficulty in making any significant progress early on. Chapter 2 seemed to me to be much easier to get into. But I still found there was not enough money to do all I wanted (just like real life!!). The game still suffers from the usual problem with RPGs and that is the combat is of the 'hit each other in turn until one of you loses all hit points' type. Chapter 2 has a much better 'feel' to it in that there is much greater detail to the environment and to the mobiles. There is also rudimentary sound now. I have to admit that the first encounter with the wolves I did actually jump as I was so engrossed in the role playing. All in all, a much better game than the first one and one I can recommend. - o -
