Daggerfall Views

For the past three or four months I have been wandering around the
World of Tamriel and this is my fourth run through of the game. I
must admit that my first attempt had to be abandoned as I was
playing a High Elf and on the quest for the Under King to get an
enchanted item I could not defeat the ancient vampire in the last
corridor. He paralysed me with one look and then fried me every
time. I intend to go back to this game one day and wear some
enchanted armour just to give him his just desserts.

My current character is at level thirty with all my Daedric armour
and lots of trinkets and diamonds soul bound with Daedric lords'
souls and are very powerful.  The disadvantage of this is that the
screen is covered with spell icons, so I only equip them as
necessary. I am at the top of all the guilds except the Fighters,
for some reason it will not go on to the final one.

I have not played a game this many times since the early Dungeon
Masters and I find it completely addictive.

A tip that I have found really useful is to enchant a couple of
rings with cast when held (1) water breathing and water walking,
this allows you to explore the flooded areas without drowning and
(2) levitation, you can fly for hours and in the final dungeon you
can fly up and down to activate all those levers without falling
four or five floors to your death. These can be unequipped and
the spell stops so you will not hit your head when descending
stairs or ramps.

The Dagger web forum was a great place to visit on the Web before
it closed. There were groups discussing the collecting of sets of
armour and where they found them, I am still searching for a
Daedric tower shield that I can enchant and this completes my set.
There were several women on there talking about the colour
co-ordinations of the different outfits and the advantages of
wearing a bra of free action also if a suit of khajiit enhanced
with toxic clouds would work better after a breakfast of beans.

As you probably know the news group, Netnews, on MSN carries the
Daggerfall group but it is always going down.
