This issue's something different is: LABRYNTH OF ZEUX (PC shareware) Stamped to the floor by Andrew J Wielochowski This is a graphic game for DOS. In the game you play an adventurer who has heard of the Staff of Zeux and decides he must look for it. He then ventures into a cave and is trapped inside by a freak landslide. You then have to collect treasures, keys and bombs to venture forth and get the staff and escape from the labrynth. There are many good parts about the game and may bad parts at the same time. The game itself is reasonably poor graphic wise, but the soundblaster music will practically blow your mind. The game is set up in different levels with different "baddies" to combat or avoid. Your character looks like an ASCII "face" graphic which is slightly amusing. As you get further into the game the levels get very hard and soon you find yourself jumping from vines, avoiding missiles and trying not to hit wickedly sharp stalactites at the same time. It has a range of enemies; walkers to amoebas. Labrynth of Zeux cannot really be classified as addictive but is very tough and those who like it WILL clock-up a fair amount of time puzzling over most of the levels. The game is perfect for children and adults and deserves a place in everyone's game collection. - o -
