Twinsen's Odyssey - Little Big Adventure 2 - Part 1 Solution by Alex van Kaam General tips: Money, Health and Magic can be gained by examining drawers, desks and the likes. So I won't mention this here, if you need money and you don't have any, start examining all the things in a room, re-entering a room will put "new" money in all the spots where you took it from the first time. >>>Going to the Pharmacy<<< You start off in your own house, leave it and keep heading east till you reach the park with the statue. Here you find the Pharmacy, enter it and talk to the lady there, she has no cure for your Dino-Fly but the customer in the shop seems to have. However, just as she wants to talk to you somebody steals her umbrella and she runs outside after the thief. Follow her and talk to her outside, she will help you if you get her umbrella back. The thief is standing near the statue, walk towards him and he will run up the ramp to the right of the pharmacy, you take the left ramp and press F8 (discreet) once you are on the roof. Then walk as much to the left as you can and approach the thief from behind. Demand the umbrella back and give it to the customer. She will tell you to see Ker'Aooc on Desert Island, run back to the house and find Zo‰ and Dino-Fly at the back, tell Zo‰ you have to go to Desert Island and go into the house. >>>Getting your Twinsen Adventure Gear Together<<< In the house examine the picture at the entrance, you will read here that your Medallion and your Tunic are in the museum. Examine the desk near the locked door, get the key and open the door. In the basement get your Magic Ball, HoloMap and the 3 Darts. Leave your house and go to the Museum, this can be found just before the Pharmacy. Enter and pay the clerk to get in. Once inside talk to Miss Bloop, she will tell you the door to the control room that controls the Bell that holds your Tunic and Medallion is jammed. Go up the stairs and you will see the jammed door, also notice the open window in the control room. Leave the Museum and walk up the ramp to the right, turn left and enter the open window. Press the red button to open the door and pull the handle to open the Bell. Press F6 (Sportive) and run down the stairs to your Tunic and Medallion. Once you have both leave the Museum and head to the Harbour (just east of your house), and enter the Ferry Ticket Office (first building) get a ticket to Desert Island, but you will be told that the Ferry won't go until the rain stops. Leave the Ferry Ticket Office and enter the second building, talk to Mr. Paul and he will tell you that this kind of weather can only be stopped with the help of the Weather Wizard, notice that your HoloMap will blink. Press TAB to open your HoloMap and press Space to zoom in on your position. Notice the Tent of the Weather Wizard on the North/West corner of your island. >>> Changing the Weather <<< Leave Mr. Paul and go north up the mountains and enter the tent of the Weather Wizard. Talk to him and he will tell you that he can only stop the weather by standing on a high spot, the Lighthouse, but Ralph the Lighthouse Keeper is not there, so you must find him. Leave the Weather Wizard and head to the Lighthouse, just southwest of your own house. There you will find a lady who will tell you the same thing as the Weather Wizard that Ralph is not there, but she will also tell you that he might be off to the Cliffs. Go back to the north of the Island and head to the East corner, there you will find a rattlesnake guarding a cave entrance, kill him and enter the cave. In here is a huge Spider, use your magic ball to hit him as much as you can, when he gets too close switch to hand to hand combat (the space bar in Aggressive mode) Continue through the cave, past 2 more rattlesnakes until you reach the Cliffs, follow the path into the next cave entrance. >>> Freeing Ralph the Lighthouse Keeper<<< This cave is the cave of the Tralu, first head West, up the stairs and West again, here you will see Ralph in a jail, he asked you to free him, so you better should . Head East but don't go down the stairs you came, go North/East till you reach the 3 Barrels, behind them on the Northern wall you will see a lever, use your Magic Ball to hit the lever, a Grate will open and you can continue North In this new area you can go up a ladder or just North, go North, jump the 2 Chasms until you reach a rattlesnake by some piles of rocks, kill him and jump on the biggest pile of rocks. You should now be able to hit the lever that is on the ledge to the West using your Magic Ball. You can if you want continue North a bit more till you reach a barrel, it holds a Lucky Clover (Extra Life). Head back South and jump up the ladder, go East till you meet Joe, then go West through the doorway. Here you will meet 2 small Tralu, kill them and get their Keys, to reach the second one you must jump from the little pile of rocks onto the wall and walk south. Once you killed them both you have 2 keys, to the South is a Gate, to get there you must walk over the wall and jump the spikes. Once you opened the first door make sure you either duck or kill the crow that comes flying down and will try to push you in the water. Go through the second door to enter the lair of the big Tralu king, get your Magic Ball ready and jump down into his lair. Be ready for a long fight since he is very strong. Once he is killed get all the Health, Magic and Gold that he drops, then get his key and go South to reach Ralph, open the Jail door to the East and lead him to the Exit... >>> Aliens<<< Once you freed Ralph your wife Zo‰ will wait for you at the Exit of the Dungeon, walk back to your house together and there the Weather Wizard will be waiting for you. He invites you to the Lighthouse, so walk there and see how he wizards the Rainy Weather away... But then when the clouds open up several Space Ships land on the planet, one even on your own island. They say they come in peace and since at the moment there is not much you can do about it so you continue on your quest to heal your Dino-Fly. >>> Desert Island<<< So head down to the Harbour, show Paul your Ticket and enter the Ferry. Once on Desert Island talk to the little lady near the Space ship, it seems those aliens are disguising themselves as Trashcans and Cacti!!!??? Look at your HoloMap and you will see that the house of Ker'Aooc is to the East, so go there... but be aware of the Aliens, it seems they are not so very friendly as they say they are, if you come too close they will shoot at you. Once inside the house of Ker'Aooc his maid will tell you that he is gone and she has no idea when he will come back (it's never easy is it??), but she will tell you that you should look for the School of Magicians somewhere on this island. >>> Finding the School of Magicians <<< Head to the North/West of the island and enter the Hacienda, talk to the 2 people there and they will tell you that you should talk to the Wise Guy on the roof top, but the only way up there is using the ladder BEHIND the bar, and the bartender won't let you in... So go East through the door and enter the right room (of the 2 rooms you can enter), this is the Female Steam Room, leave when they start to scream, once outside the bartender will be waiting for you. Walk past him and run towards the bar, climb the ladder to get on top of the roof. Talk to the Wise Guy on the roof and he will tell you that the school of magic can be found at the centre of the island, the entrance being hidden on the graveyard. Also take a peek through the Telescope. >>> The School of Magic <<< Go to the graveyard, at the locked gate walk North/West towards the 2 trees, here you will find a path leading into the graveyard. Once inside you will see Joe who has transformed himself into a Shell, follow the path on the East wall to get onto the second section of the graveyard and the entrance to the School. Enter the school and go through the door in the North wall. Here you have to avoid several "ghosts" between a maze of tables. The easiest thing is to jump onto the table from the staircase, and then just jump from table to table till you reach the plateau with the big Chest. Switch to Discreet (F8) and walk towards the chest, get the key and make your way back to the staircase at the entrance of the room, open the gate with the key and continue till you meet the Grand Rector. He will tell you about how you can join the School, learn how to heal (your Dino-Fly) and become a Wizard. You need 120 gold pieces to join though, since you don't have this he will suggest you go to the Temple of Bu... >>> Getting Money at the Temple of Bu (theme park) <<< The Temple of Bu (theme park) can be found at the centre of the island, pay your fee to get in and then go to the stand you will find there, buy 3 darts and shoot the ducks, as a reward you will get the balloons. They will lift you up, over the fence and into the pit (Players of LBA 1 will remember this pit as the original entrance to the Temple of Bu), you will fall onto a platform, get the money and jump to the next one, get the money and ... etc...etc.. Once at the bottom you can go East into the "ride" and get some more money or go West and leave the theme park. If you choose to go East then know you can change the route of the trolley by hitting the direction arrows with your magic ball (have fun) Also talk to the workman on level 1 of the "ride", he will say that level 2 is closed off and is under repair, strange thing however is that the Esmers (the aliens) have offered to repair the next level ??!! >>> Back at the School of Magic <<< Take the same route to reach the Grand Rector, pay the money and learn about the 3 tests you will have to complete. >>> Test 1: Blowgun Test <<< Walk towards the black door and the Grand Rector will tell you that you need to shoot all the disks that you will see in the next room. Enter the room, go to the centre and start hitting the disks with the Magic Ball, the trick here is to shoot your ball when the disk(s) are at a certain point. I myself threw the ball towards the North/East pillar just when the disk was approaching the pillar before the one I was throwing at. After you have completed this, leave the room and talk to the wizard until he tells you about the 2 other tests. >>> Test 2: Balsam Flower <<< Leave the School and walk West, make sure you climb onto the rocks/mountain till you reach a little wooden ramp, there is no way you can jump across this, but the Flower you need to get for the second Test is on the other side. Go back to the Village near the Harbour and explore the houses till you come to Baldino, he has a radio there, use it to talk to Zo‰, she will ask you to bring back the Steering wheel that Baldino has for her. Ask Baldino for it and he will give you the Steering Wheel that Zo‰ needs to fix your car... now there is an idea. Go into the Ticket office (first building in the town if you approach from the UFO) and get a ticket back to Citadel Island. Once there bring Zo‰ the Steering Wheel and she will tell you that Baldino forgot to give you the walkie-talkie, so head back to Desert Island, pick up the walkie-talkie from Baldino. Once you have it Zo‰ will contact you, telling you that she fixed the car and she will bring it to Desert Island for you, go to the Harbour and you will find her waiting for you. Enter the car and drive to the ramp on the rocks/mountain, make the jump and get the Balsam flower. Bring it to the Grand Rector and he will give you the Horn of the Blue Trition, you can charge this horn with Hearts and use it to heal yourself or others. Go to the local Ticket Office and get a ticket back to Citadel Island, then go to your Dino-Fly and heal him using the horn. Once he is healed he will take you anywhere you want to go, so no more need for the Ferry. >>> Test 3: Dome of the Slate <<< Fly to the Dome of the Slate and look at the map to the right of the door, (or look at the picture in the SynTax Screenshots Section) Enter the Dome and walk (using the map) to the door on the opposite side. You can if you want go for the 4 objects. Once you are outside you will see the Grand Rector again, he will give you a magic Slate and he will tell you to meet him back at the School of Magic. Walk around the Dome clockwise, climb the stairs and fly to Desert Island >>> Becoming a Wizard <<< Go to the Grand Rector and he will congratulate you on becoming a wizard, he will give you your Wizards Diploma, you will gain 1 Magic level (Green Ball) and he will tell you that you should find the Pedlar and ask for your Tunic (and let your beard grow). He will also tell you that all the wizards have disappeared and you need to get them back !!! Leave the School of Magic and find the Pedlar (the guy on the flying carpet), talk to him first and he will tell you that he saw Ker'Aooc (a wizard) go to the Hacienda and he was invited there by the aliens. Then show him your Diploma, and he will offer you your tunic (and a False beard) for 50 gold pieces, if you don't have them go visit the Temple of Bu (theme park) again Once you have your 50 gold pieces buy yourself the Tunic and the Beard. @~More in Issue 51 - o -
