Darkside of Xeen A warning from Zeke and the gang (aka Sue) The Dungeon of Lost Souls I had awful problems with Level 4 of this dungeon. In it, there is a series of levers down the left hand side of the dungeon, and two in the upper right that you can access later. A series of teleporters whisk you around parts of the level if you haven't pulled the levers correctly. If you HAVE pulled them, you will disable most of the teleporters and also open up a secret passage in the room at the bottom left. However, I soon realised there was one section I couldn't reach to the far right, and I hadn't found the stairs to get me to Level 5. Now, in the room in the bottom left, which is inhabited by minotaurs and gorgons, a statue tells you to 'start from the north and go south, 3rd from the top and far to the east, pull the lever you suspect least'. I realised that I had 'gorn wrong' because I had pulled the 'north to south' levers as I got to them. I tried repulling them, but it didn't appear to make any difference (some even said they were 'stuck') ... and that elusive square or two couldn't be accessed. It was time to restore. Luckily I had a save at the start of the level but it wasted a day's play. The moral - read the statues in this dungeon and do exactly what they say. This game is normally very forgiving and, apart from killing the whole party, it seems impossible to get yourself into a position from which the game can't be solved - except for (maybe) this bit. I'll say it again, though, it IS a brilliant game!! - o -
